and yes they are the rechargable ones , first off i let two of my packs charge for as long as it said and i put it in my controller and i was playing and i looked at how much battery i had left and this was problly like five minutes after i put them in my controller and i had one bar so i bought the charge and play kit instead because it RUINED THEM!

if you buy the charge kit the cable get it the way and takes for even to charge. this is better because it also comes with a free battery pack. i have 5 battery packs. yes the battery pack do die quick because these battery are not to less a life time. my battery last about 25-30 hrs like to say in the manual.

This unit charges MUCH faster than the play and charge and the battery life is AMAZING. I played some marathon sessions for 5 days and it still wasn't dead, I decided to plug it in anyway because it was getting low. This is awesome and I highly recommend it

This a great product that lets you charge 2 battery packs at once. It has little lights that are red when charging and turn green when fully charged. It is much better than the Play N Charge, even though it is $10 cheaper, it is most likely going to break from putting it into your controller bad, or someone stepping on it.

The wireless x-box controllers run on 2 AAA batteries.I was constantly swapping them between the controllers and the charger.The single battery pack unit is easy to charge and snaps into the controller as well as the charger with an easy push. I wish they lasted a little longer,but I use one easily 16 - 24 hours before it dies.I bought an extra battery pack when I bought the charger so I always have a battery ready. I do recommend it if you play as much as I do.There is nothing worse than losing power during an on-line gamer match.
