Plenty of power. Tills 9” deep with no problem. Powerful enough to breakup new sod. Its great for weeding, getting into tight places. Its small size lets me grow more because the rows can be closer together. I also use it to build up raised beds in the low side of my garden. It works but I wish it had a little higher rpm for this task. I used to have a gas powered one (which wore out after about 20 years of gardening) that had the higher rpm and worked really great for this task. All in all it's a great tool and if it died I would rush to buy another one.

This is a wonderful cultivator! I have owned it for 5 years and I use it once in the fall and once in the spring. It's powerful for an electric and gets the job done. Friends are so impressed that one keeps borrowing it and another borrowed it once and then bought one for herself. Cleaning it is very easy. I highly recommend this cultivator.

For years I have been turning my little garden plot with a pitch fork. I purchased this little cultivator and wow! It may be little, but it works as hard, if not harder, than it's huge counterparts. I am so glad I did my research and chose this one. It plowed through weeds and rocks with no problem. What a little brute! I will highly recommend it to everyone. Thank you Troy Bilt. I'm 60 and need 2 knee replacements. I also have a bad back. This machine is GREAT!! I don't have to sit around and wait for my husband to till my garden and no more weed pulling in my flower garden. Can't say enough about this product. It does exactly what it say it will do.I had my vegetable garden tilled in 30 minutes ready to plant!!!

After doing some research and reading the reviews of this cultivator, I decided to purchase it. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner! I was worried that I would not be able to handle it, as my upper body strength is not good. Growing up, my father had a cultivator of another brand that I tried to use once when he was getting our garden ready. It was impossible for me. But not this one! In a matter of a few minutes I had completely tilled a small part of my yard which was meant to be a planting bed but the grass had grown into it. This was pretty much undistrubed soil, as I hadn't planted anything there for several years, but this cultivator had NO PROBLEM getting through it. I didn't rate this on durability because I only just got it and so I don't know how it will stand up long term. But I do know that I LOVE this machine and can't wait to use it in my big garden next year.
