I was very excited to recieve this auger. I have started to replace my tools with the Hart brand and have a substantial collection. I have found them to be very good quality and priced well. I have recently started to replace a fence and this was extremely helpful. It was a little awkward for me to handle at first but once I got the hang of it things went very quickly. It says you get 30 holes per charge, I got 25. But as I have several batteries and the 4 port fast charger it was never an issue. What would have been a weeklong project with a manual post hole digger was turned into a weekend one. I definitely would recommend all Hart brand products.
Excellent for the money. Easier to deal with than gas and has plenty of power. I will say that in the NC clay I got 5-6 30in holes dug on a charge. Pretty much what I was expecting but might be a deal breaker for some. I will say for a fence post I'd go with an 8" bit as well. I have recently purchased the 40v version for a larger fence job and hope that it will last longer. For what this is though it's a little beast. It does have a small learning curve to get adjusted to the kickback and power. A bit of a different experience than with gas. For light jobs, possibly a small fence (20 posts or less) this is an awesome tool. If you're already in the 20v line of tools then you won't have to worry about the charge time like I did. I will say, the battery does charge from almost dead to complete in about an hour and a halfish, not terrible. Overall, this auger really impressed me for a 20v product.
Wow!!! This has made doing things around my house so much simpler. I'm about 5'2 and I was able to work this with no problems. It's very easy to handle, it doesn't jerk you around, it's not heavy at all. If you have small projects around your home and need holes dug I would 10/10 recommend this! (I tried to add a video just to show how easy it is too use, but it's not loading)
This auger is by far one of the nicest products the Sparks Program has offered! We live on the southern coast of North Carolina where hurricane season starts June first and ends November thirtieth. We have a wooden privacy fence that has gone through 22 years of hurricane seasons. It is not as sturdy as it once was and there is always the worry that a strong storm will take part or all of it down. With the auger we are able to drill holes next to already existing posts add a new post and give the fence much more stability, security for us and peace of mind. The auger is not overly heavy to carry and use. Having a 4AH battery gives it plenty of power and it is so nice not having to deal with long extension cords! It will save a lot of time and money. We would have to hire a fence company to secure our fence which would be expensive or rent an auger and have to complete the job quickly with high rental fees. We will also use the auger to make holes for flowers we will plant across the front of the house along with other plants and small bushes.
The Hart 20V Auger works great at digging fence post holes, or soil preparation. This auger is relatively light weight. It works with Harts 20v batteries. This product has a much longer runtime than previous augers that I have owned. The motor on this is strong and powerful! It has a handles on both sides of the auger for easy grip and control. This system is completely cordless. The Auger comes with a 20 Volt battery and a charger; however, a 40 volt battery can be purchased if you decide that more power is needed. I find for my use the 20 volt works just fine. With the 20 volt battery you can dig up to 30 holes per charge. The Auger also has a safety button on the bottom of the left handle. I love this Auger. It's easy and fun to use, and makes short work at digging holes. This is my third Hart product and I'm learning that this company never disappoints when it comes to making durable, and reliable products.
