Sealed with SealCoat sanded smooth. Sprayed 3 coats is minwax lacquer waiting 4 or more hours between coats. Left a rough surface. Tried light sanding to smooth surface. Applied brushing lacquer using natural bristle brush. Brushing lacquer didn't go on smoothly appearing to eat into the existing lacquer. Finish did not level at all, leaving severe brush marks. Minwax rep told me that I couldn't recoat the sprayed lacquer with polyurethane and to use brushing lacquer. Temp in mid 60's. Sanding off finish 3 days after application found lots of finish peeling off

I'm having a really difficult time with this lacquer. Seems too thick? Goes on inconsistent and results in the “orange peel” effect every time.

For those of us who build or refinish guitars the "vintage" way, this is nitrocellulose lacquer. I love this stuff and have used it on multiple guitars. It's priced wonderfully and it's something I can pick up at the local big box store and don't have to wait for shipping. For those of you who have said it takes a long time to dry, that's the nature of nitro lacquer. It takes a while to dry and even longer to cure. I will use this stuff as long as you guys don't change the recipe!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Minwax has always been my go to brand. For some reason this lacquer seemed to have more harsh fumes than usual. If you have to be inside you need to make sure you mask up and open a window or two and have a fan for ventilation. Generally, I have no problems with lacquer but this seemed to stay soft for way too long. I had to wait almost 72 hours to apply another coat. And I had streaks. No matter what I did I couldn't get rid of the streaks. I won't buy this exact product again, but I will continue to use other Minwax products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great product, really helped give an old table new life. I like that you only have to wait a couple hours between coats and there's no need to sand in between. The finish turned out smooth and clear, it looks nice!
