Normally i LOVE the bananas at Walmart - in store you have choice between not quite ripe and already ripe, depending on your needs. Sadly, on my last delivery order, i got 2 very very green ones and one that had odd brown specs all over it - that never did turn normally brown after 7 days - i threw it out Will stick to getting them in person ;)
I enjoy having two fresh bananas every morning for my breakfast. I normally purchased a dozen at a time. After numerous attempts, I've finally learned how to keep them from becoming overly ripe by putting them inside a plastic storage bowl with a snap-on lid and add about six pieces of serrated paper towels. The paper towels absorb all of the moisture produced by the ripening bananas. By the 6th day, the remaining bananas are still firm.
We love bananas. We've tried the organic as well as the regular. Seems the organic lasts a little longer. But for the price difference, we go for the store we love bananas. The bananas were green and I mean green it will take over a week for the to be ready to use in anything. There ought to be a way to tell these people picking our items certain things like this. Would you eat a green bananas? They don't use common sense. They don't really care because it's not for them they'll just pick and send anything.
Time after time, we order bananas from Walmart and at least 9 out of 10 times they are super ripe and ready to go bad or have already started. I love a banana that is ripe, but not soft and mushy the next day. I can't seem to get a bunch of bananas that will last me 4-5 days without having to throw them away!
