I bought this for a 4 year old boy who has older sisters. I am not sure a 5 year old could even figure out the answers as the adults and a 12 year old were getting frustrated with the directions. We finally got the hang of it but it requires a lot of thinking ahead and do overs. It was fun but I don't think younger kids have the skills to complete all the levels.

My almost 6 year old daughter loves this game! She sometimes has to go back a few steps and re-try her strategy, but she doesn't get frustrated. I have to make her put the game away or she would keep playing all day! I labeled each animal so she could work on sight words and may put the colors on the back side as well! I love how the pieces can both lay down or stand up.

We purchased Animalogic for our 5 yr old grandson for Christmas. He very specifically mentioned it when we spoke to him shortly after he had played it for the first time. He said he really liked it and talked about the levels he could complete. Later, his mom wrote a thank you note for him, and quoted him as saying, "I love Animalogic and I just played it. I played up to number 3 and it was very hard! I can't wait to try more." I'm now anxious to play it with him when we vist.

Our 5 year old grandson understood the directions quickly, whizzed through the first few puzzles and then had to stop for dinner. A couple of hours later I found him playing the game by himself. He's a child who is very active and loves sports so it was good to see him entertaining himself with a quiet activity. His almost 9 year old brother also likes the game, but he and I started on the 10th puzzle so he would be more challenged. They both really enjoy playing AnimaLogic!

We played the game with a five year old and a two year old.It was interesting to note that both were able to use the game to their abilities,ie. matching skills, logic to figure out how to manuever the pieces. My son works with special needs children and he is planing on using the game at work.
