I was thrilled to find pink bed rails for my daughter's "big girl" bed. I set them up and had them in place in no time at all. Folding down the rails is very easy to do, and the rails seem very sure when in the upright position. The only downfall is that, due to the short height of the bed frame, they touch the floor when folded down. Overall, I think this is a great product at a great price!
This really is a great buy, and was easy to set up, however, we regretfully have to return it. I bought this (blue was out of stock) for my husband and I to use on our queen size bed. We both have started to move around so much at night, that we have occassionally started to fall out of bed. Since we are both older, we worry about the possiblity of broken bones. This fit all our requirements except one. Once you pull it up at night, you can't release the sides from inside the bed, to get out of bed. You have to scoot all the way down to the bottom of the bed to get out. It is fine for the purpose it was made, to keep children from falling out of bed, but not easy for adult usage.
I'm so happy to have been able to find this at WalMart. The blue versions are so much easier to find, but not at all feasible for my little girl's princess bed. The rails took only moments to put together. They give my daughter the security she needs while transitioning from crib to bed. They stand securely when in use at night and fold down easily. An older version used with my first child didn't have the fold down feature so we had to look at it during the day. I especially love that the sides fold down. A must have for your little girl.
This bedrail is OK. I've never purchased one before so I really don't have anything to compare it to. It was pretty easy to assemble and seems to be sturdy enough for my very small 3 1/2 year old daughter. I don't know how it would hold up for a bigger, stronger kid. I don't like that it isn't (easily) adjustable once you have it set up. I keep the rail down during the day and it is too tall to fold neatly by the bed so it sticks out and creates a "step" for my daughter to climb up on the bed. I have to repeatedly remind her that this is not a step and that it will break.
We have only had this for a few weeks, but so far we are pleased with it and have not had any issues. It was the best price found on the internet, it has been durable (though our little girl is very gentle), and it is very easy to set up. Since our daughter's twin bed has slats and does not need a box spring, the sides are unable to be folded down. Though this has not really been a drawback except that it is not really possible to put a comforter on the bed since the rails are snug against the mattress. The only complaint we have is that it is a little more peach in color than it is pink.
