We swept the area below then dropped the ramp in place. That's it. Just moved and the new house wasn't accessible. This is my first ramp. Looked around and found ramps that cost three to five times as much and are so heavy it would take three or four people to assemble and put in place. Look forward to pitching my new ramp into the car to bring along. Getting the $5,000 chair into Ma's house is much better than leaving it strapped to the back of the car where weather and theft are factors. I love this ramp! I use it to assist a person in a motorized scooter go in and out of the house. It's lightweight feature makes it very easy to handle and it's very safe in preventing the scooter easy from tipping over. The person I use it for has little depth persception. Easy for training a person on proper use. I purchased the 1 -1/2 inches too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This ramp is perfect for for the door out to our patio a four inch drop out of the house, could not get a better fit. Ramp is not secured to patio and have had no problem with movement of the ramp when used for a manual wheelchair. Perfect cold also. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Bought this so my dad could get out of the house easier than lifting the wheelchair over the one step. It is working beautifully. Once down, it doesn't move when the wheelchair rides over it. It is sturdy, yet easy to move to another doorway. Happy that I found this product and using it.

After reading other reviews and searching ramp styles on many sites, I chose this particular one. It is for my husband who can walk with a walker, but with much assistance following a stroke, but also uses a wheelchair. It is perfect for the 5" rise and 36" width of the door. I love that it is so lightweight that it can very easily be moved, but I haven't had to move it, but once. The traction seems to be good. It looks nice also. It was needed for the step in the garage into the laundry room, so will be used inside. I have pushed him up in a manual wheelchair.. he's about 6' 190# and i took a heavy power chair up that we were just given and it stayed in place and i didn't notice any buckling etc. I'm very happy with it and it came in a timely manner. If there is a negative, it might be there are no raised sides but it is plenty wide. I recommend
