If you like frozen Turkey TV dinners you will love this!!! Taste like the turkey meat from a frozen tv dinner. It has some type of seasoning rubbed on it and the meat reminds me of a processed meat like Spam. I got this due to the small size and it was just my wife and me and I am so glad it was just us two!! I would have been ashamed to serve this to my family and friends. Don't get me wrong I enjoy TV dinnners but I do not feed them to guests. I WILL NOT BE BUYING THIS FOR OUR CHRISTMAS DINNER OR ANY OTHER TIME!!!
This turkey breast was terrible the seasoning was not good on it and I cooked it according to the directions. It was dry. I should not have to pay for this type of product. Needless to say the Thanksgiving meal was not what I had planned because of it.
We've bought this 3 times. The first 2 we're good, but now they have it where you cook it frozen in the bag. We followed the instructions to the T. Once it was done and rested we opened it up took a taste AND DIRECTLY IT WENT INTO THE TRASH. Please bring back the netted ones!!!!
Very disappointed in this product. I followed the directions, and put the turkey breast ( inside the inner bag ) on a rack inside my roasting pan. I put it in the oven set at 375, set the timer for 2 hours and let it cook. Within an hour, I could smell that great turkey aroma. When it got to the 1:45 mark, that aroma was replaced with the smell of burning food! not good! I yanked the pan out of the oven and discovered the source of the smell. The bag it was in had leaked into the pan, and I had a big black burnt puddle under the rack in my best pan. To make things worse, the turkey was only 150 degrees inside. I was forced to cook it another 30 minutes before it was done. When it finally read 170 inside, my roasting pan was ruined. it smelled so bad, and was smoking so bad that I took straight out of the house, and after it cooled down threw it in the trash. I removed the turkey breast from the bag, and actually it looked pretty good. After it cooled a little, I cut a piece off and tried it. Apparently, someone at butterball thinks everyone loves garlic. I could have killed a thousand vampires by just breathing on them! The garlic was so strong you could barely taste the turkey. The only thing the garlic basting juice was good for, was to ruin your pan and test your smoke alarm. I trimmed off all of the outer part of the turkey, just served the inner meat. It was OK, but kinda dry compared to the butterball frozen turkey roasts, which I think are really good products. It was just my bad luck my store was out of them when got this lousy product. You live and learn!
This was easily twice as salty as the regular Butterball turkey roast. Even after brushing my teeth - I can still taste the salt in my mouth. I cant imagine what they were thinking when they marketed this product.
