Love this cover, complete cover with everything there for my truck. I was a bit nervous if I would have the parts necessary to install this on my new Hyundai Santa Cruz but the rep I spoke with assured me that everything would be included and it was! So glad that I purchased this from Realtruck!
Easy to instal, looks good. Just a few hiccups along the way. The instructions are a little off when it comes to the instal. I managed without the instructions although confused for a few minutes. Still trying to stop the wabble (which is a little distracting in the rearview mirror) when travelling at highway speed, the tensioning needs to adjusted. Over all happy with the cover.
This cover is made to fit the truck bed without any bed liner. I have a drop in bed liner and it required cutting into the bed liner at the front of the bed in order to move the rails close enough to allow the tail gate to close. I used a dremel tool to cut the liner just enough to push the rails forward until they contacted the actual bed metal. Otherwise, the rails were too long for the tail gate to close properly. The latch now just touches the tail gate when closed.
Great cover. My only issue was with the installation instructions. There was a "install supplement" sheet with the cover and instructions which I think could have been clearer. Perhaps put a you-tube video with the install for the 2016 Tacoma out showing the tie down brackets which made it necessary to loosen the install brackets after the install to get the tie-dows back on.
I purchased the cover in order to protect a number of flowering plants being transported to a remote wedding location. Shipping from RealTruck was quick and I had it in hand in plenty of time. The installation instructions are pretty good and it took me about 30 minutes to get it installed and fastened down. Taut like a drum, only negligible movement was noted during travel at interstate speeds. The flowers arrived fresh and protected from the weather (including a serious thunderstorm the night before!) The support bars are essentially 3/4" conduit pipe, so them bending over time is moot. The velcro, to secure the sides, works much better than snaps. I see dozens of trucks in the area with snap covers, but due to the inability to stretch the cover, go unsnapped. The weak point in the system are the clamps that secure the aluminum side rails to the bed. Previous reviews note that 4 clamps per side would make the installation cleaner and more secure. I agree. One of my clamps near the end gate came loose and needed to be repositioned and refastened. The instructional photos show the factory tightening the clamp bolts with an impact tool. This may speed the process and eliminate loosening. Also, they suggest simple spring clamps to hold the rails while the clamp bolts are tightened. I found that using a pair of locking pliers (Vise Grip style) worked much better. I wonder how the rails would hold up to a dropping force, such as a load of dirt or mulch falling from a front loader. I guess I will find out soon, as the flower beds are calling. All in all, a great product that accentuates the look of my truck and protects the cargo in the bed. Get one, you won't be sorry. Next, to the truck salvage yard to find a locking tailgate handle.
