I use chia seeds on a daily basis, specifically this brand. While placing an order here, I remembered that I was running low and decided to see if Walmart carried them. I could not believe that I was able to purchase 2 pounds for the price my local store charged for 1 pound! Even though I wasn't low, I ended up purchasing another one, which I have in my deep freeze! If you use chia seeds, I highly recommend purchasing this brand.
If you need extra fiber this is a great way to slip it in, i put a heaping tablespoon in my cereal, oatmeal or yogurt, let it set a couple minutes before eating. I dont have any issues with bm's so this stuff hit me hard, i had mixed it with my raisin bran 2 days in a row, think ill just do it every other day.
i received some chia seeds from Better Body Foods, this is an organic product, which is very important to me. I use chia in many different dishes, going from baking to cucumber water... and even to make my own jam. i am currently doing Ketogenic diet and i was concern if i was able to eat chia following a very low carb diet because chia has a modaerate amount of cabohydrates but more than half of this are fiber, which does not increase blood sugar or jeopardize ketosis. Unlike carbs, fiber isn't digested and absorbed and chia seeds contain the highest levels of fiber. Chia always provides a way to make you feel full, improving satiety. i eat chia and MANY different things but my favorite it is doing jam... it is sooo easy to make. and i make sure my family is eating healthier too. you only need strawberries, chia and a little steavia, i put almost not sugar on it because i like my jam less sweet than the regular one you find at the store... google it and give it a try. you wont regret it. Chia seeds this can be added to pudding, jam, cucumber water, baking, almost any of your cooking!, and it is a great source of omega 3! add chia to your life you won't regret it, and this product it is organic!
These Chia seeds are good to add to many foods. They give me a pick me up shot of energy. My favorite thing so far is to add them to Garden salads to add some crunch. I tried them in Yogurt and it was okay. I should of let them soak up some moisture from the yogurt before eating. That's unless you want crunch.
How to review chia seeds? Chia seeds are notoriously messy, wet or dry. So, the packaging for this product works. The hole in the top of the container is big enough to allow me to use a big tablespoon to scoop them out, without making much mess. The clear container is nice, too. But, they are supposed to be stored in a cool, dark place. Mine is on top of the fridge...woops. The health benefits go without saying. I mostly use them for my morning protein shakes. I let them soak for a few minutes to get the gel like substance on the outside of them...makes them go down easier. I don't chew them, so I don't know if they are foul tasting when chewed or not. There is pretty much no taste if you don't chew them. Swallowing them takes a bit to get used to, but, it's not a big deal. I have also been known to drop a few in my morning oatmeal. I am working to get my four year old to toss a few in to her oatmeal. It's a super food,,,what else can I say?
