We set these traps 3 times, twice with peanut butter and once with cheese. The mouse kicked the peanut butter clean and never tripped the traps. Then he tripped the trap with the cheese but didn't get caught and proceeded to eat the cheese. Sigh. Time for a more intricate trap for this mouse.

The best feature is that it is cheap so you will not feel bad just throwing out the whole thing mouse and all. You do have to bait the trap for it to attract the mouse. A combination of oatmeal and peanut butter works. A more effective mouse trap is an electronic zapper that is reusable. So less environmental impact than throwing away a wood and metal mousetrap. But the wood and metal mousetrap is at least not made of plastic so the wood will degrade in our lifetime.
