I have used Mobil 1 in my Ecotec since new, 286k miles later it is still running strong. I change oil and filter every 5k, I switched to the high mileage formulation when the vehicle reached 100k.
I have a toyota tacoma and have always used mobile1 it's the.best synthetic oil out there! Just started using the e.p high mileage and I'm sure it's just as good or better than regular mobile1 only time will tell
I've noticed quite a few negative reviews that obviously didn't read instructions saying for the first couple oil changes to stick to normal 3,000 - 4,000 miles so that it can clean any access sludge and other stuff in your engine. I have found that this does exactly as stated and have over 214,000 miles on 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee. My engine still quiet and very smooth acceleration. I've been very happy with this oil and can definitely say that it's the best high mileage oil to get. It does cost little more and for first couple changes that is as I said before if you're vehicle is sludgish prior you need to do oil change at 3,000 twice in order to clear out junk and let this stuff do what it does. Although it's not going to fix a messed up engine that's leaking out had prior issues. I highly recommended
After having an expensive timing job on Ford 5.4L 3 valve engine with 250,000 miles, I switched to Mobil 1 EPHM, changing out the mechanics store brand oil shortly after the work was completed. I noticed it runs quieter and I haven't had any issues with the hydraulically controlled variable cam timing which is extremely sensitive to oil pressure & cleanliness. I would have bought the Mobil 1 at the store and gave it to the shop to use instead if I knew it would be that much better and was specifically formulated for high mileage vehicles.
Everything I own gets Mobil 1. Yes even my lawnmowers. I have 2 walk behind John Deeres. Purchased them both new in the early 80s. Still starting first pull. Can you say that? I have worked for Porsche and Chevrolet . Porsche REQUIRES Mobil 1. Corvette REQUIRES Mobil 1 . I feel if the engineers feel it is needed in these high perf vehicles it is what Im using in everything.
