Sauder Sea Cliff 5-Drawer Chest, White Mist

Dresser was a great price for what you get. Very heavy--needs two people to transport. Took me a couple days to put together because I had a very hard time tightening the hidden cams to where the directions indicated. It was, in fact, impossible...even with a power screw driver, not all the cams tightened to the right place. After many tries I gave up--it seems sturdy enough despite the booklet's dire warnings. I love the look--off white, not stark white. Very cool, calm and classically simple, a good size, too. It matches my beachy/flea market/New England/sea shell theme really well. Only complaint about the look is that some of the seams have gaps--not totally flush, but that might be constructor error, since I was a little rushed and exasperated at the end. I love it though--the look, the smooth drawer tracks, the general sturdiness of it. After all, it was worth the trouble, especially for the price paid.

This dresser is just what we wanted......except, IT IS NOT WHITE!!!! In the online picture (which is all we had to go by since it was not an "in-store" item), the dresser appeared to be white, so we bought it to match our other baby room furniture. Unfortunately, it is a grayish off-white. We attempted to paint it, which didn't go well either because of the type of finish it was. Otherwise, it's a nice looking dresser - lots of drawer space and quite nice looking for the price. Just be warned, it is is NOT WHITE as it appears.

The dresser was very well constructed. It's made with heavy duty wood and was fairly easy to assemble. My wife and I purchased one online and had it shipped to our local Wal*Mart to try it out. We were so impressed we bought 7 more to use as storage in our attic. For the price, you can't go wrong. We might buy more.

The chest of drawers arrived with some noticeable chips and dings on the front edge of one of the drawers. We didn't feel like lugging it back to the store and then have to wait again for another one, so we just kept it and put the damaged drawer on the bottom spot. Will touch it up with some white paint.

I chose this piece based on the style and price. This dresser took some time to put together, although the directions were clear and (thankfully) all the pieces were included. It is rather sturdy which I was pleasantly suprised with considering the price. The color, "white mist", is softer than a stark white, which is precisely what I was looking for. I like the safety feature that only one drawer will open at a time.
