It works really well but, plan ahead to have good scissors around to open the package. For something like diahrrea, you would think this would be easy to run and get to, that is not the case. The little line where you're supposed to tear open, is not tearable in any way upon close inspection. You need to cut one side near the pill, while making sure not to crush the pill (have had that happen thrice so far), nor that the pill will pop out rolling away into the abyss (twice), and that you cut enough to be able to pull at the indestructible backing to get to the pill. Is this backing material used in the military? I don't see how this was approved by anyone. I literally can tear bookboard apart with my own hands and open the toughest jars but, these little packages have torn open the skin on my fingers with 0 progress to reach the pill.
There is no doubt that the medicine is very effective....but first you have to reach it!...i am sure that engineers were involved in the design of the packaging, they produced a very human unfriendly solution, I have read many reviews, some from elderly or disabled people, I do not belong to either group, but had to use my engineering background to figure out what that small line on the pack meant...it really did not mean anything! I design packaging for various items in manufacturing, with the aim of making the item accessible and secure from a damage point of view. You have remained complacent about the redesign of the packaging, your engineers get an F on that, as for management they share the guilt of not being proactive in pushing for a redesign.
I purchased the 24 count pack wrapped in foil. I am not a young person, but still have good hand strength. I could NOT get them out of the package without a pair of scissors. We were at a hotel and had to ask at the desk for a pair of scissors. The indentation for the notch was not at the edge of the small section. The pills had to be cut out, in order to take them. The backing paper was very heavy, must have been at least the weight of cardstock, so you could not peel it off. The foil package made it an easy to pack or carry benefit, Doesn't do much good if you can't get it open. I was very disappointed with the product!!!
Best product I've used! To QC Department: Instructions says to TEAR AT NOTCH just does not work because the notch is not connected to the edge. I had to use scissors to continue the notch to the edge, once it was connected I was able to tear it open and get the caplet out. Looks like the machine that puts the notch into the plastic needs adjusted. The packaging manufacture's QC Department needs to be notified of this problem.
Although the pills work well as they have for years, That is only if you can get to them. The blister pack is poorly designed with the tear notch not going to the edge of the packet that you have after tearing it from the card containing 6 pills. If you really need this product, you should buy it in the bottle version ONLY.Boaterbob
