I received this set to test from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This is a great starter set for a first-time mom who may not know all the things she needs before baby arrives, and especially in the early weeks of breastfeeding! I really like the therapy packs and have even purchased a second set so I can always keep one set in the freezer and the other ready to heat up when I pump. They're also really handy for soothing clogged ducts, especially in those early weeks of engorgement. The nursing pads are great and I really like using disposable ones when I'm going out and leaving the house and also keeping a few sets in my diaper bag for emergencies. The lanolin cream is OK but at the time I received this in my breastfeeding journey, it wasn't something I needed to use regularly anymore--though I'll probably keep it handy with my pumping supplies to lube up my flanges for more comfort! I don't have flat nipples, so the everter wasn't something I used and I'm not sure it's necessary for a kit like this given that it's not something everyone will need, but overall, this is a great kit for a new mom who doesn't know where to begin with breastfeeding accessories!
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this breastfeeding set! This kit included a mini Lanolin Nipple Cream, Disposable Nursing Pads, TheraPearl 3-in-1 Breast Therapy Packs and a LatchAssist Nipple Everter. This little kit was everything I needed to make my breastfeeding endeavors a little easier. I love the Lansinoh Nursing Pads—they are prepackaged individually so you can take a few on the go whenever you need them; I love that they aren't in a plastic wrapping so if I need to open one when baby is sleeping I won't wake him with the crinkle of plastic! The mini Lanolin cream is the perfect size to keep in the small pouch of my breastfeeding pillow and seriously works like a charm. The therapy packs are a dream and the perfect size. Before I got these I was using a large heat/cold pack and folding it as it was a giant rectangle, so the round shape and snap closure of the cases are so perfect! The therapy packs' shape to form my breast helped tremendously with the engorgement! Lastly, the Nipple Everter really worked to help pronounce my slightly flat nipple—I wasn't sure if it was actually going to do the trick but it did! And the little travel case it comes in makes it so easy to take on the go! This kit really has everything you need to help your success in breastfeeding!
The Lansinoh Breastfeeding Starter Set is definitely a must have for all breastfeeding or pumping moms, and I would highly recommend adding it to your registry! The lanolin nipple cream was a lifesaver. My hospital also stocked Lansinoh branded lanolin so I know it's trustworthy. As a first time mom, my nipples were so painful especially in the first week of breastfeeding, and I didn't realize I could ask for it in the hospital until right before I was discharged. Once I got it, though, the lanolin helped soothe the pain immediately. My baby wanted to feed super often, so it's important that any nipple cream be safe for baby to ingest without having to wipe off first, which would make your nipples hurt even more! The disposable nursing pads are a must. Before giving birth, I wanted to be less wasteful and decided I would only use washable pads. Unfortunately as my milk production ramped up, the washable pads would get wet immediately after changing them. You definitely don't want to keep wet pads in, not only because they're uncomfortable, but also because that encourages bacteria. So I finally tried out the disposable pads and they're SO much more comfortable. When I leak, the pads actually absorb the milk and wick it away so they aren't wet to the touch. They end up lasting much longer than the reusable ones, so with less washing they may even be less wasteful. Also, they're sticky and stay in place all night, as opposed to the reusable pads that would end up sometimes completely falling out of my bra while I slept. I think once my milk production is regulated and I'm not leaking as much, I may be able to go back to reusable pads, but for now I'll stick with the Lansinoh disposable pads. I also love using the breast therapy packs. They are super easy to freeze or microwave and come with super soft covers so they are comfortable on your bare skin. I use them hot before and during breastfeeding to help increase my milk flow. I experienced mastitis, and with the help of these plus a massager (shown in my picture but not included with this set), I was able to clear the clogged duct and my fever in just a day without antibiotics! When my boobs felt extra engorged, I used them cold after feeding and it relieved the pain also in just a day. I was given this breastfeeding set to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this breastfeeding set! I would definitely recommend to pack in a hospital bag and as it includes everything I needed to get started with breastfeeding. The Stay Dry pads are definitely helpful with leaks and I will be packing some in my purse/diaper bag when leaving the house. The breast packs are amazing and I had actually purchased some during pregnancy to help with painful/sore breasts (having two sets now is great for when I forget to put one back in the freezer)!
I was given this breastfeeding set to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. The pads worked great! I had them in my nursing bra each day and all night and never had a leak! Prior to using my bras would be soaked in the morning. The nipple cream is an essential item for any new mom, I had it with me all the time. I wish it was bigger, I ran through it quickly (reason for 4 stars instead of 5). The one thing I don't have pictured is the ice packs because they are in the freezer! They helped me relieve soreness and engorgement. I did not need the nipple inverter but I think it's good to have on hand.
