I ordered the plug in cooler for a trip to Europe, it was a godsend! Our trip that was suppose to last about 12 hrs ended up being 42 hours due to delays. Thank god I had my cooler for my insulin because otherwise it would have gone bad before I even got to my destination. I will be using it again this fall when we go overseas . I'm so glad I found this!
New user here. First time using, loved it, the two hotels I stayed at both had refrigerators but not a freezer area. So was very happy to have a portable refrigerator, in addition ran off an external cellphone battery while in the car for 5 hours each way. Kept the three pens I had with me at the proper temperature. Will definitely recommend to any friends who may need something to keep medicine cool.
Since diagnosed with T1 diabetes 45 years ago, I have finally found something that will keep my insulin cold when travelling. My Voyager medicine cooler arrived today so have only tried it for a little while using the USB lid. Bottle cooled from 20c to 3c in 30 minutes. Tomorrow I will use the frozen biogel and take it with me while out in 30 degree weather. Why didn't I know about this travel insulin cooler years ago! I should have bought the nomad cooler also, then to could use it every day during our hot weather.
Flying first time with the voyager to transport three needles for a long trip overseas. I had it stored inside my backpack with a charger- it overheated significantly. There is damage to the rx and not sure what I'll do. Apparently the vent on top of usb lid needs air flow- can't be enclosed in backpack. Who knew. This would be very important to know as a traveler as to the best method to transport the unit.
I got diagnosed with type 1 in early 2022 about a month before my 6 week European backpacking trip. I researched options after being told insulin would have to be kept refrigerated & I came across 4AllFamily. Their products have been exactly what I've needed. I traveled to the Netherlands, Germany, Czechia, Austria, Italy, Switzerland & the UK with my cooler. 6 weeks total! I flew AerLingus & I was able to bring the cooler aboard + 2 power-banks I bought. I wasn't sure on whether I'd be able to bring these on board so I preemptively reached out to AerLingus. They were frustratingly unhelpful. I risked it and brought everything with me and thankfully did not have any issues with airport security. (Warning:, on a later flight I did have the blue Biogel pack in my checked-luggage and the dinguses at Manchester Airport thought it was drugs so I'd recommend leaving this Biogel pack at home. According to Manchester Airport, it "looks suspicious on x-ray.") You can plug in many places at hotels, stations, coffee shops and on trains & buses. Look under, over, between, and behind your seat to find the outlets. Bring outlet converters for both the Euro-zone & the UK as they are different. The UK prongs are skinnier & the converter will not work for the Euro-zone. -Aerlingus' USB outlets never worked for me so I used a powerbank instead. Bring at least 2-3. -Outlets are very common on trains/busses across the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland & UK. Hard to find in Czechia. Exist in Italy but RARELY work. TIPS AND TRICKS: Italy has a vendetta against ice. Use frozen peas & the small plain lid in an emergency if powerbanks are dead. -Some hotels need a keycard for electricity to run. Get an extra so your cooler can stay powered if you're leaving it behind while your'e out.
