I love these bottles. I've been using them since my oldest (6) was a baby. I LOVE them. No gas, and no tummy trouble with them. BUT...they do leak sometimes. No matter how tight you screw the lid on, somehow it will still leak. They don't leak with every feeding though, so it's worth it. & They are kind of expensive. For 2 bottles, it's $20. But they work so I love them.
Love these bottles, nice wide mouth makes it easier to get in and scrub them clean. My sister in law used them with both her kids and loved them. Don't have any problems with leak, vent great so my baby doesn't get gassy. Would buy them again. Only bottle to use
The only good thing that came out of purchasing Avent bottles is that it was a true test of tenacity and sheer will which helped build character. I originally bought the Avent bottles when I began supplementing breast milk with formula, which was 13 mths ago. Despite them leaking from day one, I tolerated them until I called Philips, whose rep sent me their sippy cups, stating the nipples would work just as well. So without any other option at the time, I went with it. Turns out, the nipples fit just fine, but the Avent sippy cups also leaked! Again, I endured the milk-soaked shirts, stained car seats, sofa cushions, added laundry, sticky everything just so our son could continue with the bottles he's gotten accustomed to. After months of leaking sippy cups, I decided to throw in the towel and asked for some sort of restitution for these shabby bottles, which they flatly do not do. If you're looking for bottles, my advice to you as a seasoned Avent bottle user is to save your money (and your sanity) and buy something else. I now use Bornfree and they are FANTASTIC!! You never know how bad you had it until something good comes along!!
There's nothing like having your baby wake up at 3 am crying hysterically and hungry and when you go to feed her the bottle leaks all over the place so you have to take it out, try to unscrew the nipple that you had screwed on as tightly as possible (tough once you have milk all over your hands from the leaking) while she screams. Then you have to drag your tired self to the kitchen holding a screaming baby so you can rinse off your hands and the bottle so you can unscrew the nipple. This happens all the time for both me and my husband. We've tried all the tips online to prevent the leaks and we still get leaks at least 50% of the time. I would not recommend this product at all. We would have switched already but she's used to the nipple and between that nipple and nursing she can't handle a different nipple. But as my husband says, "I've wanted to throw that bottle across the room several times in frustration."
We've been using Avent bottles (both 4 and 9 oz) for almost 2 years now. No problems whatsoever with gas for the baby nor with the bottles themselves. Especially, no leakage. We replace the bottles when they start showing scratches and the nipples when they start feeling the slightest bit sticky and that's about it. You do pay a bit more but you get your moneys worth.
