I was able to use this for testing the fuse on my gas dryer. It has several different options to test connections. I found it easy to use, too.
I received gift Walmart gift cards for Christmas 2015 and my Birthday on Dec. 28th. 2015. I purchased this item in January, not sure of exact date. I used it a couple of times just to check batteries on my grandkids toys to verify that they were still good or not. I was proud of my meter until recently I needed it to test house current and found out that it didn't work to test AC current. When I attempted it, my home breakers kicked off. I rechecked, making sure I had the meter set for AC and tried again with the same results. I was going to return it to Walmart, but lost my receipt. Figured I got a bad one, but since the price was resonable I was going to try another, but when I visited my Walmart the only remaining one was all taped up with package all torn. Apparently someone else had the same experience and did return theirs. I will buy a replacement, but going to make sure I buy a better quality meter. Cheap isn't always cheap in the long run!!! John
Amazing functionality per price. Temperature sensor comes as a separate cord that you plug in.
Haven't used it much, but I do love the no touch volt meter. Over the years I have paid more for less.
For working on my car and other odd jobs around the house, this multimeter is perfect. I've been using an analog multimeter from RadioShack for years, but I needed one which gave me digital readout in tenths and hundredths for my low voltage project, and this Etek 10709 fits perfectly. The very low price makes me wonder how accurate it is, but after testing on various batteries, it seems accurate enough. I've not tried the temperature probe yet. The build feels solid, the case is plastic, so it will probably break if dropped on a hard surface. But at this price, who cares? One thing I did discover is the display (which is easy to read) jumps around a lot unless you have a solid contact with what you're measuring. I found using clips helps it be stable. For all the bells and whistles this has, at this price, it's wonderful.
