This is a very good phone. The UI is friendly enough. It takes getting used to, but soon it becomes second nature. The only complaint I have is the limited personalization on the phone. For the home screen, you can either have four shortcut icons w/ search, email, and calender entries or you can have shortcuts for your four favorite contacts which will allow easy access for calling and messaging them. Other than that, you're left with a plain screen. The browser is pretty good. I didn't find it difficult at all to use it. It's very reliable, and it's one of the best features of the Nokia 5800. Many people have complained about the resistive touchscreen, and I understand where they're coming from. It is very different from the capacitive touchscreens on the iphone and android phones. In spite of this, I like it. I don't mind double tapping when making a selection. Actually I prefer that to accidentally opening an app when I might just be trying to scroll through the menu. My biggest complaint is about the operating system as a whole. It is very buggy. I have had to completely reset this phone three times so far. I would suggest this phone only for people who are willing to troubleshoot regularly. Those who don't and still insist on owning this phone: be careful about installing apps and themes. Stick with the stuff at the Ovi store. Basically, this phone is great if you don't mind having to work around some of its quirks. I've had it for a few weeks, and in spite of having to troubleshoot a few times, I still really like this phone. Of course I'm still aware that there are plenty of people who won't.
i am enjoying using this phone.it is best for it's price. for gps service you need to have a data plan. otherwise it's amazing.
If you're expecting an iPhone, this isn't for you. The touchscreen takes some getting used to and the screen is much smaller than the iPhone. The onscreen qwerty keypad is small and results in a lot of keying errors. The internet browser isn't very user friendly. Even using Opera Mini isn't much better. There are a lot of nice apps available for download. The Ovi gps is ok. I find myself using Google Maps more than Ovi. Battery life is excellent except when using gps, which would be obvious to anyone who has used a gps enabled phone before. For the price, it's one of the better choices for a touchscreen with all the included features. Maybe next time I'll bite the bullet and spend twice the amount for a higher end device.
I always love Nokia. As per expectation this is a good smart phone. Unfortunetly, this phone have small touch screen. Also, navigation is not very good. You have to plan your trip and update location on internet and sync it with navigation system. If you are on road and decide to go some other location suddetly than this navigation system will not help you at all. You should have data service on your phone to make it work. It would be great if they keep database of locations on phone. Nokia does not more choice of web applications like Blackberry or iphone. Best feature of this phone is wireless lan and camera. May be I am expecting too much but this is what I was looking for ..
Great phone, very happy to bought it, thanks to Wal Mart that reduce the price
