Sauder Orchard Hills Full/queen Bookcase Headboard, Carolina Oak Finish

Sauder has a reputation for great products and I love this headboard. My only complaint is the set up!!! VERY hard and the instructions were ridiculous, but once it's together and you take your time, it's a very nice piece. I would recommend it so long as you have the patience and time to put it together. It would be nice if it came put together. Overall - love the product! The one thing in the instructions that I would definitely recommend is have all your items set out before starting - even the hardware.

Whoever said this could be put together by one person must have bigger muscles than me! I bought this for my son. It took me 3 hours to screw it together-would've been much easier with a drill. Once I stood it up to move it the whole thing fell apart. It was a disaster & I was ready to throw it away. I composed myself & rigged it to stand up. It looks really good & hasn't fallen apart yet. It will work for what I needed but I'm not thrilled with it.

The delivery was right to my door and was early, which was terrific, especially since the delivery was free. All the predrilled holes matched (that was a first) and assembly was easy. I priced particle board at Home Depot and couldn't get the lumber and hardware cheaper, plus it was already precut! It's sturdy and makes for great extra needed storage.

The directions weren't very clear to me, but I finally got it. The top of the bookcase headboard isn't put on according to directions because it just didn't work, so I used carpenter's glue and it's staying in place just fine. It is slightly wider than the mattress and frame, but looks nice. I'm satisfied, but would recommend you have a man handy to help.

Sauder has come a long way in the past decade or so. This set looks nice, you have to get close to tell its not real wood. I am however apprehensive because being made of compressed wood board there is that inevitable problem of lack of sturdiness. It feels really well made now, quite sturdy, and was put together with a minimum of hassle. As long as it is not moved around I am sure it will last a long while. Once you start dragging it around the room to rearrange the floor plan is when it will wear out fast! We did have to choose a second (less than ideal) choice in the floor plan to assure that the bed has two side to walk around for making up the bed as apposed to putting one side against the wall, which would require pulling the bed away from the wall each time you made the bed, this would cause stress on wear the headboard is attached to the bed frame and would break away quickly. Glad we thought of that right away.
