Mattel Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots Game

I purchased this as a birthday gift for my grandson who loves playing game. He loved it the minute he opened it. Thank god it was easy to snap together. We played it for quite some time. I told him about playing this when I was a kid.

Smaller, cheaply-made, not worth the money. I received this toy for my 5th birthday (43 years ago). My father and I played this for hours beating each other up with little plastic robots. 40 years later I couldn't wait to share with my Son. Oh how disappointed I was when I finally assembled this piece of junk. This toy is much smaller than the original. The robots are smaller and the arm articulation is very stiff and not fluid. It also doesn't make the whirring sound when you knocked a block off. Well it does, but it's barely audible. Find the original if you can, but avoid this one by all costs. It will only lead to disappointment. Mattel, I've loved your toys through the years. I have many years playing with a Mattel toy, From Rock'em Sock'em Robots to all the Star Wars Toys. You guys were a huge part of my Childhood. It's a shame you won't be part of my Son's.
