I use this in my kitchen which is very cold, but small. It enables me to turn the furnace down and still stay warm. I find it does emit a certain odor which is a little annoying, but not enough to stop use of the heater. A cool setting is an extra-I can use it all year.

This heater is really quiet & it has a softer appearance. It warms up my room nicely. My roommate's heater makes her room a lot warmer, but it's also a lot noisier (and it doesn't look as nice). Also, this heater has a timer, so I can set it when i go to sleep and not have to worry about it running all night. I would recommend this heater if you want something simple and nice-looking. Only thing is that there are only 2 levels for heating (most heaters seem to have a greater range).

With all the different reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. My basement where my daughter sleeps is between 40-50 degrees(minnesnowta) always in the winter, it is half under ground. Her bedroom is 22x19 and I put this heater in there and shut the door, half hour later it was warm enough to walk around in shorts. It warms up her room GREAT! It is not hot in there, it is warm. I just got another one for the other half of the basement. It works better warming up our large cold rooms than the 2 Holms and 1 Lasko heater I bought first. I thought since they cost more they would work better. I was SO WRONG! We have it on 4 hrs and off about 1-2 and back on another 4. We use it all the time. We are happy with this heater!

I purchased the Comfort Essentials Ceramic Tower Heater from www.walmart.com for $46.00 delivered to my house. That is a steep price for a heater. So steep that it is 1/3 of the price/cost of my monthly electric bill. So, after a couple of months of use we'll see if it helps lower the electric bill or not. This heater is quiet and puts out a decent amount of heat on the High Mode, on the Low Mode it puts out a very small amount of heat that it could probably maintain after using the High Mode to heat up the room first. My children love this heater because even after running for hours they can touch it and not get burned by it. It would make a great heater in a room where the children play or gather around to read or make trouble. It oscillates with the touch of a button up to a full 60 degrees. The Timer button has 15 levels from 0.5 hours, 1 hour, 1.5 hours...up to 7.5 hours. The Low Mode puts out 800 watts and the High Mode puts out 1500 watts. Pretty quiet for a heater in the dead of night. It beeps when you touch a button which I wish I could disconnect. Too annoying. Takes its time heating up the room and maintains the level of heat. Great heater for a cold winter in Boulder, Colorado, just too expensive to purchase.

I was looking for a portable room heater since our central heat went out and am very satisfied with this heater. It is compact enough to not be in the way. I can place it on the floor or on a dresser, super quiet and has a timer from 30 min up to 4 hrs. which is very convenient. My only recommendation would be to offer a remote control. It heats the bedroom comfortably as well as the living room with no problem. It is a great heater for the price. Also comes with a sensor that shuts the unit off if it is tipped over even slightly. Very good idea with kids or pets around.
