EcoSmart Electric Tankless Water Heater 18 kW

6 years and still running strong. Make sure to clean it every 6 months. I also use a descaler. I'm in N Florida and I can run 4 showers at the same time with the 27kw model. I keep the temp set at 125F.

I have the Eco18. These guys prey upon people's desire to be green, etc. but when you look at the specs, these things can barely heat any water. Our Eco18 is dedicated to one bathroom which has a tub, a shower and one sink. They don't even put a bathtub flow rate in the "Sizing and Installation" tab because a bathtub uses 4-7 gpm which knocks out most of their units. The Eco 18 is touted as a whole house unit....maybe...if you're a chihuahua and live in a dog house without a tub. This thing would be ok as an under sink heater and that's all. We cannoot even fill the tub because in order to keep the water warm, it has to come out like a trickle. Any more than that and it's just plain cold with the unit giving a high flow rate error. You can't set the temperature any higher than 103 - 105 degrees F or it will error on just the shower which is listed at 2gpm. My water is in the middle zone, not too cold but it absolutely cannot perform for one bathroom much less a whole house. I don't recommend Ecosmart at all...it's more like Ecoscam because these heaters just do not do what they are advertised to do. Bottom line...look elsewhere for tankless water heaters.

I just purchased an older home and it was remodeled in 2018. They installed the Eco 18. I personally do not think it's large enough to run all Id like to run at one time. However, when taking a bath…well, I cant because the water does not get hot enough! I have it set to the highest 140 degrees. It's all I have running. Maybe Im missing something??? Any feedback would be appreciated. If it's an error on my end id be glad to change my overall rating to a 5.

i never recived the unit two days after i placed my order i went to check the tracking on the item and it said it was lost in transit
