Top of tap has fallen apart only had it a couple of months, can't use

This unit replaced an older one that had failed, leaked and did not put out much water. This unit looks good. Only downside is that the copper tubing is too short. I had to join two pieces of copper tubing to reach the water outlet pipe. If the copper tube was a bit longer, it would have fit. Better to have a longer tube, that can be cut, then to have to make a joint union which could leak at some point if any of the compression ferules fail. I actually had a copper tubing cutter, but bet most homeowners dont. But for now, it is working fine.

This is our third InSinkErator hot water dispenser. We have to replace the product every few years because of the heavy mineral content of our water, which eventually ruins everything. I do not consider this to be a fault of the product. This time, we bought an upgraded model, and the overall quality is clearly higher, plus it offers another year of warranty. We had a professional plumber install the device, and he mentioned that a nut or bolt was missing from the package, which was required to install it. He had to go get one, to finish the installation.

Our plumber had to abort the installation owing to a leaking gasket where the top and bottom of the tank are sealed by way of a gasket and several nuts and bolts. The kitchen floor flooded as the plumber was not expecting the unit to sport a significant operating flaw. Needless to say, we had no choice but to disconnect the unit.

Had to replace the previous one after 5 years of everyday use. Not sure why but water was not getting hot enough. May be due to internal scaling from hard water. Easy to install / replace. Water had a odor for the first week of so but it seemed to dissipate. Overall a good unit. Very handy to have. Definitely would recommend.
