[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a fun, interactive toy. Whether a two year old just fills the pie or an older child differentiates by color and shape or counts the fruits, this toy is quite engaging. Sturdy design and complete storage unit are a big plus.
I specifically bought this toy for my special need son. When comes to teaching him he tends to make slow progress. But with this toy, anything that is required of him to do, he does it with ease. He is beyond interested in this toy- which is really rare. It is sensory friendly, but one aspect that could improve is the tongs. In my opinion they aren't appropriate to grab the fruits with, otherwise, this toy is perfect.
I REALLY LOVE THIS SUPER SORTING LEARNING RESOURCES PIE YOU CAN TEACH A CHILD THAT IS GETTING READY TO GO INTO PRE-K AND KINDERGARTEN THINGS TO LEARN. IT GIVES THEM AN EARLY LEARNING JUMP START TO SCHOOL. THE KIDS ARE LEARNING THEIR COLORS AS WELL AS THEIR NUMBERS AND FRUITS TOO. I FIND THIS PRODUCT TO BE AN AWESOME LEARNING TOY TOO BAD THEY NEVER MADE THIS PRODUCT WHEN MY KIDS WERE SMALL I SURELY WOULD OF LOVED IT AS WELL FOR MY KIDS TOO. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE THAT THEIR KIDS ARE ABOUT TO START SCHOOL ITS PRETTY COOL THIS LEARNING PRODUCT. ONE THINGS FOR SURE THE FRUITS ARE SMALL PIECES MUST BE CAREFUL THE CHILD DON'T PUT IN THE MOUTH MUST BE ATTENDED BY A PARENT WHILE USING THIS LEARNING TOY PRODUCT. I DO FIND IT A LITTLE HIGH FOR THE PRICE FOR THIS LEARNING TOY PRODUCT. BUT OVERALL I DO RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE TO GIVE THEIR CHILD AN EARLY LEARNING JUMP START. THE WAY I SEE IT WHEN IT COMES TO LEARNING TOY PRODUCTS YOUR'E NOT REALLY WASTING YOUR MONEY AT ALL BECAUSE THE CHILD IS LEARNING AND PLAYING BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. AND WHEN YOUR CHILD OUT GROWS THIS LEARNING PRODUCT TOY YOU CAN PASS IT ON TO SOMEONE ELSE'S CHILD AND HELP THEM GET AND EARLY EDUCATIONAL JUMP START AS WELL TOO. I FIND THE PLASTIC TO THIS LEARNING TOY PRODUCT TO BE DURABLE AS WELL, I DON'T FIND IT TO BE A LIGHT PLASTIC IT WILL SURELY LAST THIS PRODUCT.
I work with small children...toddlers through pre school and they all love this product! The "fruit" pieces are small enough for little hands and durable enough for the older kids. I love that the pieces are textured which helps my kids with sensory issues. This product is great because you can grade it either up or down...so everyone gets a chance to play with it. One of my constant goals with my kids is sorting of shapes and colors so this hits that goal every time! The bright colors and simplicity of the game attracts and encourages the kids to want to play. The tweezers add a fine motor component that can't be beat and the kids use their imagination on what they are "baking"! Lots of fun! I personally love the packaging...the fruit, sorting discs and pie are all enclosed and the box that it comes in is extremely sturdy. Five stars from me!!
When I first opened the box, the sight of a lovely golden pie was such a delight! I do love pie so this toy appealed to me from the start. The construction of the pie itself is unique. It comes apart to allow you to change sorting activity cards. The three double-sided sorting cards are varied and will entice a young child to play with the pie over and over again. One of the cards is divided into five colored fruit shapes to match with the different colored fruits. Another card has numbers to match and the last card uses fruit shapes and colors to sort. There is only one thing about the cards that concerns me and that is the purple color of the fruits and the purple color of the cards are not the same purple. That could be very confusing for a young child. The other colors of the card are very close to the matching fruit colors. The fruits are just so cute! There are ten fruits divided into five vivid colors which are red, yellow, green, orange, and purple. The nectarine/peach and the orange look so much alike that I didn't notice the difference at first glance. Again, this could be confusing for a young child. The fruits include bananas (green and yellow), apples (red and green), plums, grapes (red and purple), lemons, oranges, and nectarines/peaches. Two large plastic tweezers are included to help a child sort the fruits into the pie. They are rigid and could be difficult for small hands to handle but the fruits can be sorted by hand without using the tweezers. The instructions include other sorting activities that will help you keep children engaged in meaningful play time.
