I am extremely disappointed that the cane does not fit the bag!!!!! What is the use for the manufacturer to provide a bag that is too small for the folded cane to fit???
This cane seems to be sturdy. I have not used is as of yet because I am saving it for my travels. I have had a similar product and have been satisfied with it. This one meets the same expectations.
Overall I am happy with this cane. For the price, you really can't complain too much. This cane is stronger than most folding canes because each segment pushes into the next. This gives it more reinforcement, but means you can't just throw it out and have all the segments snap into place like a magic trick - you have to manually push them in. It still has elastic running through each segment so they stay together. There are 2 handles, a standard Fritz handle and a left-handed ergonomic handle (if you have an injury to the right leg/hip, you should hold the cane in your left hand). This means if you need a right-handled cane you will have to use the standard handle only which is still great. The standard handle is a glossy black plastic and a nice length for men, with a finger grip impression on the underside. The ergonomic handle is a little short for my liking (some of my palm hangs off the edge, but its not too bad) and is made of a rough non-glossy plastic that looks a bit uglier but is probably for better grip. The ergonomic handle allows you to hold the cane more with your palm than your wrist, which lets you lean down on it more. It feels a lot more comfortable but I think it makes you limp more because you tend to push down onto the cane rather than swing it. It also means you can never switch hands. The cane is not quite as quick to adjust as others - you can't just push the pin and change the height, you first have to unscrew a plastic ring. Its not hard, but I need a different height for when I have my shoes on versus in the house - and this makes it more of a chore than it needs to be. There are 2 plastic screw rings on the cane which make it a little more 'functional' looking - so it isn't quite as elegant as it could be. They have also put their logo on the handle and the ergonomic handle is made of an ugly plastic, so it scores less for looks. It comes with a bag, wrist lanyard and strap to put around and keep the segments together when folded. Nice touches but I wont be using them. One other minor point, the rubber foot doesn't have as many ridges underneath, which doesn't affect the grip, but it means there is a very slight suction effect on hardwood / polished floors. Nothing to worry that much about though. Overall this cane is excellent, but could use a few tweaks. Pros: Ergonomic handle Very Strong Accessories VERY affordable Cons: Plastic screw rings are slower to use and ugly No ergonomic right-handle Ergonomic handle plastic-type is uglier Functional looking Cannot 'flip out' segments into place The pros definitely outweigh the cons!
I tried to find this in the stores and nothing similar was available, so I went on line and this was perfect.
I have used these canes for years and they are very durable and a decent alternative to a real all wood cane in that the joined areas are very rigid and sturdy.
