My doctor recommended TERRASOUL psyllium husk to minimize my ongoing constipation I've been experiencing for about fifteen years. It does a very good job. It's my primary "medicine" for this issue.
The psyllium husk powder is exactly what I wanted. It dissolves completely in liquid without any grittiness and provides extra fiber for the diet. Thank you, Terrasoul for providing a quality product!
Works like a charm! My husband and I both mix it into our morning starter drinks and it keeps us so clean and regular. No added sugar just pure gentle fiber.
I do a lot of gluten-free baking. The best recipes for gluten-free yeast-risen breads use psyllium husk powder, which is remarkably gluten-like. This is the best brand of psyllium husk powder I've tried. It was sold out for a while, so I tried to make do with several other brands while waiting for this to come back in stock, and they were all noticeably inferior. Other brands have off flavors and darker colors, and don't make doughs as stretchy, but this brand is very mild and light-colored, and produces the lightest, stretchiest doughs. Doughs made with this can even be shaped almost like gluten doughs, to make cinnamon rolls and such. Now that this brand is available again, I stocked up. Here's my standard bread recipe, which I adapted from a recipe from Allergy Free Alaska. Dump everything into a stand mixer with dough hook: 2 1/4 cups warm water 1 tablespoon sugar 2 teaspoons yeast 1/4 cup Terrasoul Superfoods brand powdered psyllium husk 1 tablespoon ground golden flax seeds (or ground chia seeds) 1 cup tapioca starch (or arrowroot powder) 3 cups gluten-free whole-grain flours (like a mix of sorghum, millet, brown rice, gluten-free oat, whatever you have.) 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 2 tablespoons oil Mix until it's a nice dough. Put into a loaf pan, let rise until about doubled, and bake at 350F until done. Let cool before slicing.
I'm so happy my favorite Psyllium husk powder is back! This brand is hands-down, the best for gluten-free baking.
