Kidde AC Hardwired Operated Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Digital Display KN-COP-IC

I feel so great having this Carbon Monoxide Alarm in my garage. I read that having a garage brings carbon dioxide into the house and is something to watch out for, especially if you have babies. So, needless to say, I an so much more relaxed. There are many features and my husband read all about it. All I know is you get a reading on an easy to read digital display and it was a breeze to put up…and I have less worry. Who thought an alarm could look and feel so good?

This is an essential tool to add to the arsenal of one's preparedness in case of emergency to one's home, as it alerts to high levels of CO (Carbon Monoxide). This is a deadly, odorless gas can take a whole family's life without warning overnight without warning. I would recommend installing this item near the door to one's garage as well as near the kitchen, and another near the basement and wherever a family member sleeps. A person cannot be too careful.

This is a hard wired carbon monoxide alarm that also has a battery back up (battery included). You get a visual readout every 15 seconds of the carbon monoxide levels. You also get a display of the highest reading measured since the last reset. This alarm can be connected to up to 18 Kidde smoke, heat and CO alarms as well. The alarm is 85 decibels if there is a problem, and there is a flashing red light alarm if you are hearing impaired. This alarm will operate in temps of 40 degrees F up to 100 F and humidity from 10% to 95%. I am having my electrician install this for me since he has some other jobs to do for me already. This unit should be placed in a room that does not have a fire place or gas stove, but should be visible. This unit has a 10 year warranty.

Standard size which is great if replacing because it was save you from painting after installing. Simple wiring to do for me because I was replacing an existing smoke detector. Not sure how difficult it would be as a new install but directions cover both. Has a loud sound when tested. You won't miss the alert in the event of an emergency.

When I received this carbon monoxide detector in the mail we were surprised to see that it was both hard-wired AND battery operated. We put a battery in it right away and the digital read out says 0 thankfully. We did not have a carbon monoxide detector before this so it gives us extra peace of mind knowing that we are covered in case of a leak. We will keep it upstairs where there is more people traffic so it can be heard. It seems sturdy and the alarm is as loud as a smoke detector.
