Kidde Fyrnetics Heat Detector with 9-Volt Battery Backup, 120 Volts AC

It is a 120 ac wire in heat Alarm. It says it is for areas prone to nuisance alarms. It has a quick connect 120 volt wire harness and battery backup with the 9v battery included. It responds to heat not smoke so it will alarm when the temperature reaches 135 degrees Fahrenheit or above this way in the kitchen or garage where there may be some frequent fumes or smoke not fire related this will go off by the heat not that so you dont have to keep muting or worse turn it off because of that. It can be interconnected to up to 24 devices such As smoke alarms and CO. It has a separate mounting plate that fit standard Electrical box configurations. It also has a locking feature to deter battery And alarm theft. It has a 5 year warranty. It is 85 decibels when alarming but just chirps when the back up battery needs replaced

Well, the Kidde took forever to get to my home! (A month after shipped)! We have 5 Kidde Fire Protection in our home and if this new product had a higher temperature range, it may have been ideal to add to them. Obviously, we can not use this Kidde Fyrnectis Heat Detector. I can see this being used in cooler climates especially in their summer temps. I was so happy when I received the Kidde Heat Detector as I know Kidde products are outstanding! Just sorry to say this will not work here in CA. If Kidde could design a Heat Detector for higher temperatures, we would buy it! It would fit right into our current Kiddes!

It's super easy to replace this heat detector. I recently painted my home and the old detector started to look very ugly. I decided to replace it, yes, no malfunctioning but for beautification purposes. This unit was awesome, it's more like a plug and play device. I just had to make wire connections, which was literally plugging in a wire. Then I screwed it on the ceiling, that was it. This tiny magician was ready to work. I tested with an intentional act of heat and the alarm went off as expected. So far, I haven't experienced any false alarms or technical issues. The 9-vold battery back is a nice add on to have with it. This unit complements my new paint pretty well. I am happy with my choice.

This heat detector hard wired install but worth the extra effort for the peace of mind. I am using this in conjunction with a smoke detector, to ensure safety. There are 2 types of structure fires, and a high temperature may not have a lot of smoke. Also, it has a 9 volt battery back up.

The Kidde heat detector is a good idea to put in either your kitchen or in your garage. When I received this I put a battery in it to see how loud the alarm was and it was quite loud I then put a hair dryer on it to see how long it took for it to heat up and set off the sensor. It comes with a great wiring system with battery backup and we mounted it in our garage. I recommend getting the heat detector.
