Very thin paint. Runs easily. Poor coverage for slight imperfections. The only reason I didn't buy a better quality paint was because I just wanted to freshen up a rental. By the time I was 30 seconds into cutting in the corners and woodwork I knew this stuff was worthless. I still had some high quality paint roughly the same color. Mixed it in and made it work. Bad stuff. Get good paint!
I usually use Sherwin Williams paint for all of my painting jobs. This time my customer wanted to buy the paint. This paint is very thin, drippy, and gummy. Took twice as long to finish one wall. Returning the paint and going back to Sherwin Williams. Spend a little more on quality paint and save a lot on labor cost and time. Lesson learned!
My second experience with Glidden paint bought at Wal-mart and I am totally pleased with the results. First job I did last summer was painting my bathroom, I used eggshell and not only did it roll on smoothly, it covers very well in one coat. Just did my son's bedroom again in eggshell and was so pleased at how well it rolled on and covered. I have painted a lot in my life and have purchased paint from Lowe's, Menards, Home Depot. This product beats all of them and is so much lower in cost as well. No waiting to have it mixed either! I think the big box stores have you mesmerized with their displays of ALL the colors you could choose and in comparison Wal-mart's are pretty simply laid out. But if you know what color(s) you need why mess around with all that hoopla?
I've been a property manager for 25 years. I'm selling a home and figured this paint would be good enough to cover an off white paint with another off white paint. In this case, choosing this paint was a mistake because it had the consistency of light cream. When time is of the essence, having to redo sections due to visible shadows just doesn't cut it. Extremely disappointed in it's performance. Now, for the third try, I'm hoping that the it covers in a consistent manner. The only saving grace was the price point but I figure my time is much more valuable than the price I paid for the paint. Having to go over a paint job just doubles my work and throws my schedule completely off. The walls were properly prepared and completely washed down before the paint job; so I know it's not dirt and grime bleeding through. God help those that choose a major color change. in that case, this paint would be impossible to work with. In all fairness, I've seen much higher priced paints also perform badly. When buying paint, have the store shake the can. Then shake it yourself. If it seems like it feels like it is filled with light motor oil, it's time to choose another brand.
I attempted to paint my kitchen cabinets with this paint. I brushed it on and it spread with great difficulty, did not cover in one coat and ran and dripped terribly. A complete waste of money!!!!!! Now I have to go out and by the Rustoleum Painter's Choice paint, that I should have bought the first time! Glidden paint? Never again....
