Developed specifically for the Wii™ system, the sports game will feature an all-star cast of characters from the amazing worlds of Mario and Sonic. Players will compete as or against their favorite characters including Mario, Sonic, Luigi, Knuckles, Yoshi, Tails and more. With the innovative control systems of the Wii, gamers will have a blast racing down the 100m track, beating their best distance in the triple jump or challenging their friends in a swimming heat, all while competing for the muchsought after gold medal. The stage is set for an unforgettable competition for up to four players this holiday with Mario and Sonic. Over 20 events to master. Includes stages that are modeled after real-life Olympicvenues with actual Olympic events including track & field, archery, skeet shooting, tabletennis, and gymnastics, as well as additional unlockable stages that bring in objects from the fantastical worlds of Mario and Sonic. Four unique playing styles. The competition takes on a new dimension with the special strengths and abilities of each character. For example: Sonic and Yoshi (Speed), Mario and Amy (All-around), Peach and Tails (Technical), Bowser and Knuckles (Power). Three game modes: In Single Match mode, players can try out each event individually; or try Circuit mode and compete for the highest overall score. In Mission mode, there are challenges created specifically for each character. Wii controls get gamers into the sports action. Players swing the Wii controller for the hammer throw, notch the Nunchuk to shoot arrows and skeet, simulate different strokes for swimming medleys, and much more. Also, secret power boost techniques encourage players to experiment and find a competitive edge. Multiplayer challenges for four players. Players can join in on the fun simultaneously on the Wii, competing with their friends in single events or in athletic circuits.
