This item is stylish and does what it advertises. We've had it for ~2 years now and are still very happy with it. We put compost in it every day (family of 3-4 depending on when the college kids are home). We keep it on the counter all the time, emptying it maybe once every 2-4 days. It can get funky in there after several days, especially in the summer, but we don't notice it with the lid closed. We don't use a liner bag. We do put a piece of paper towel on the bottom to absorb a bit of gunk that might get down there - seems to make it easier to clean up if that happens. I rinse the can and wipe it after every use, sometimes with some kitchen cleaning spray. Pros: -great looking on the counter -not too large, but holds what our old ice cream bucket held more or less -easy to clean because of the size of the mouth -carbon filter seems to keep odors down (never tried it without) Cons: -lid is a bit heavy and smooth, and i dropped it once and broke off a piece of the inner ring that holds the carbon filter in place. I easily superglued it back together and no problems after. -bamboo handle wood color does fade a bit over time, presumably because it's hard not to get it wet when you wash it. -the can material in the gray color does get a little streaky, even when wiped, at times, but seems to go away Other comments from users: -some have commented that the handle screws come loose. We've had ours two years and never had that issue. I've never needed to tighten them. -some have commented about odor. We have never even bothered to replace the carbon filter. I rinse it once every couple of months lightly (carbon still does come off when you do that). We don't have odor issues even leaving food waste in there for a few days. Summer time requires more frequent dumping and cleaning as it gets funky in there sooner. (our house interior is 68-70 in winter, and 75-85 in summer)

This little counter top composter is great! I have been using and the description is accurate and very well made. The filters do mask any odors. Once it’s full I empty into our larger outside composter and have cut down on many trips. Can’t wait to start gardening again when the weather is nicer!

This compost bin is the perfect accent piece to our newly remodeled kitchen. I love the matte finish and the terracotta color surprised me with how well it goes with my pale-green and grey Ikea cabinets. It works well too. The filters and design of the top keep the odors trapped inside and it holds plenty of food waste. So happy with my purchase!

Wanted to use the 10% off coupon I was given on entering the site the first time bzabanrec, but once I did that it brought it to below $50 and had to pay for shipping so the discount code essentially meant paying $5 more, so I ended up not using it.

I had been storing my compost in a large ice cream bucket so I was delighted when my children gave me one for Mother's Day. It definitely beats an ice cream bucket sitting on my counter! My only negative comment would be that the charcoal filter gets moldy and needs to be washed but then it becomes flimsy and will no longer stay in the lid, mine continues to fall out in my compost.
