It is a little difficult trying to get leaves and twigs into the chute you must press them in with the tool. I have only put dry material through and it works great so far. I wish they would ask you to review again in 6 months that way we could see how it holds up. On reliability it is electric so it starts right up every time. But I don't know how long it will last.
I live in an extremely rural area. There is only approximately 1 acre of land cleared around the house, the remainder is wooded. Needless to say, I have a lot of sticks that fall into the yard routinely and even more after a windy storm. This little chipper has been a hard worker. I put a 5 gallon bucket under the chute, which fits nicely, and makes it a lot easier to distribute the chips among the bushes and flower beds. Please note that this chipper is mostly for small sticks, not for leaves or branches larger than about 1" in diameter. Only con to this has been that sometimes if the branch has a bend or is crooked, you have to work with it or even cut it at the bend to make it feed.
This wood chipper has surprised me honestly. I put it together in my kitchen with the help of my dear ol' dad. I honestly thought was going to end up being a salad maker lol..kidding.. but when we got it all together it actually caught my attention. This "lil'" wood chipper has some pretty big power. I did take videos but unfortunately my phone wouldn't upload to my gmail to allow me to put on here but I did get a few pics. not of what I wanted but if I ever can get it to install on here I will upload the vids. This wood chipper does small branches and leaves. It is good for small flower beds and or flower pots. You can really use your imagination with this thing. The only thing I really think is useless is the plastic unjammy bar that comes with it. It really is useless. It doesn't really help stick anything down inside of it or get anything unjammed. I really love how easy you unscrew the body off to get all the jammed up rubbish out. I am so glad I got to review this lil' guy. I have fallen in love with it. Thank you sparks for allowing me to review.
This chipper is the perfect addition to my garden tools. My first garden ever is doing well, but keeping the weeds out has been a challenge. A friend told me I needed to mulch the garden to reduce the weeds. I got this chipper to help me out. The recent storms have left many small twigs on the ground. I have been using this chipper to clean my yard from all the twig debris and making mulch for my garden. It was easy to install. It is light and easy to maneuver. It's quieter than I expected. Very easy to use and clean. It grabs the thin branches and twigs, green or dead, and eats them up very fast. If the branch has leaves, sometimes the leaves won't go through because the feeding opening is pretty small, but if pushed through with the included pusher, the leaves will mulch up too. The chipper is elevated and I can put a bucket underneath to catch the chips for easy transport to my garden. The chips are so cute and small! It takes very little space in my shed. I'm very pleased with this chipper.
This is one of those items that we didn't know we needed until we had it and started looking around in the yard at all the things we could use it for. My husband used this for the first time the other day and he LOVES it! He is so happy with it. Easy to assemble, clear directions, and the rolling wheels come in so handy. We were careful to use small sticks and branches and it chopped them up very fine. The end product was too small for the mulch I prefer but we will be putting it to very good use as fire starter in our fire pit. We chipped it right into a 5 gallon bucket that we will put a lid on and save.
