Beginning I was skeptical about buying refurnished product since it was my first tablet, however owing to my tight budget, decided to take a chance. I ordered site to store, the shipment was prompt and delivery before expected time but the packaging was not to the mark. It was loosely packed and the bottom of the outer packaging box was not sealed leaving it to be easily opened. Trusting no infringement with the product, I took the delivery. The packing of the tablet inside was not like the original packaging. But I am happy the tablet was as good as brand new with no scratches or blemishes and about its functionality I can only say I am very satisfied. I did not want to return just because of the not so good packaging. After 2 weeks I found side of the charger pin is chipped and slightly cracked, I am not sure if it came that way or happened from my side. Overall I am happy and satisfied with my purchase.
Received unit on 8/8/13 and it will not charge anymore after one week. 2nd tablet from Wal-Mart to be junk. Samsung is a great product, so it must be Wal-Mart. Good thing I got the warranty so I won't be out the money, again!!! Even though I shouldn't have to use the warranty...
This tablet shipped as promised and arrived in excellent condition. Looking at it I could not tell that it was used/refurbished - looked brand new to my wife and I. We cannot rate its capabilities since we are new to tablets and need to change our mind-set (THIS IS NOT A LAPTOP COMPUTER). We have found it reasonably easy to set up basic functions like e-mail but are having some difficulty with other functions - it is a trial and error process since it appears you need to know how to operate a tablet to learn how to operate a tablet. Documentation for the new user is hopelessly inadequate - Samsung must assume we are all 10 years old!! However we will persevere and overcome.
Works exactly as described. Battery is robust enough for all-day intermittent use. The more you use it, the more you understand the capabilities. BUT since there is no actual user manual, you have to feel your way in. I still haven't found a way to remove those annoying folder blocks from the home page. And there are other instances of unwanted apps that simply cannot be deleted. Finally, it is almost mandatory to have an accessory folder to hold the tablet and protect it when it's not being used. Mine cost me $39. My favorite use is to read the news from several sources just before I fall asleep. This is ideal for reading in bed.
My refurbished unit looked perfect. Could not tell that it was refurbished. If you read the specs comparing this to newer Android tablets, I think the main complaint is a weaker CPU and possibly the resolution. This means that it's not as quick as some of the newer ones. I don't notice it for my usage (netflix, browising). Netflix looks fine, perhaps I'm not that picky, but if I want a cinema effect, I go to a theatre or my big screen TV. Came with Android 4.0, but a simple software update kicks it up to 4.1.1. I would make this the first thing I do. Doesn't do flash, but I've learned that newer Androids and Ipads do not do flash, so a lot of web content is not available. However, the world is quickly migrating to non-flash. If you have flash files - there are low-cost flash file players and the one I chose seems to work fine.
