I researched online and figured out I have Morton's Neuroma. I then found pads recommended. These work to reduce pain as do other similar pads made of different material. Sometimes I stick them on my foot, sometimes I put them on top of the sole of my shoe, and sometimes I pull out the soul and duct tape them to the bottom of the sole and then re-insert it. You need to find the correct positioning to get relief. Definitely do not put it directly under the sore area. You place it a little lower on the foot. I like to hike, and these have helped a bunch. I have also opted for a cushier shoe and that helps along with these pads.
I'm a nurse with flat feet and hammer toes, I tend to walk on the balls of my feet. These pads are great as they help my feet, knees and back by helping me walk correctly! Def love these and recommend!
The pads are great. However, the placement is not especially easy. I used masking tape to try to find the sweet spot on the shoe inserts then removed the plastic backing to adhere the pads to the insert. Still testing out the locations, but I'm planning to order more for my other shoes.
They are removable and can be washed for reuse. Takes a bit of experimenting to find the right placement for your own use. I pulled out my insert before placing. Much better than using on shoes without removable inserts. Will likely buy more if they are reasonably sturdy. Also will try just sticking to bottom of my foot. Adhesion is good.
I have a Morton's neuroma on my right foot which is aggravated when bike riding. I ride 35 to 45 miles 3 times/week wearing SPD clip bike shoes. After about 20 miles the pain would get unbearable and nearly stopped me from riding. I bought the ZenToes pads and watched a YouTube video by 'The PT Guys' for placement. These two are physical therapists and Brad is also a serious bike rider that suffers with Morton's neuroma. Brad demonstrates where to place a pad and following his suggestion it worked well on my first attempt. Two rides now of 35 to 40 miles with only very little discomfort near the end so I'd say a 90-95% improvement. As Brad points out in the video the pad should be installed underneath the insole so it's slightly to the rear of the tender spot. Per his suggestion I'm holding mine in place with duct tape and I installed in in both shoes for symmetry.
