I know it was for me, and you may be surprised how more performance your machine is after not only cleaning it, but also elevating it. The stand does what it needs to, but the default configuration holds much to be desired as even for the purpose of eelevating for airflow, the angle of how it's suggested to be used is much too steep, and for some people the gradient is too high for their needs. You can remove the feet at the front and replace them upside-down to use a confgiuration with a less steep angle which would be equally as adequate, and with a more comfortable gradient for typing, as well lap use. It honestly could do with some extra holes for inserting screws, however — some people may find PC fans to be beneficial, and the capability to fasten on fans at select spots could help improve device performance with forced induction of air. Other than that, this is a solid unit which should last your life given care and respect to the product.

There is no slipping or sliding of the stand and the tabs in the front hold the computer securely in place. I have no concerns about the computer falling off. This is a great laptop stand you can even you use it on your lap. My laptop gets hot- which I doubt is a good thing for my laptop and if it is on my lap it get uncomfortable. This solves all of theses problems. Although made of a firm metal it isn't much thicker than carboard . It lays flat and has great rubber stoppers especially on the bottom so you have no fear of the laptop sliding off. Put it on a table and it stays put. If you are looking for a stand and one you could slip into your briefcase like a piece of carboard this is the one. I have a 17 inch laptop and it sits comfortable no wobbying.
