Sylvania 8" Premium Rugged Water Resistant Bluetooth Speaker 360° Sound, Ultra Violet, SP1043

This speaker is lightweight and weighs 1 pound 2.9 ounces, It measures 8 inches tall and 3 inches wide. A micro-usb cable comes with it and it measures 14 inches long. To turn it on and off you will press and hold the circle button at the top of the panel on the front of the speaker. The sound is very good for a small portable speaker. When turned up to maximum sound there is not a lot of distortion. To get the most sound in your room or area you will want to turn the speaker with the buttons to the back. There is an instruction sheet that comes with it (1 English and 1 French), it is broken into 7 sections – the print is a little small, but easy to understand. There are three modes – Bluetooth Mode, FM Radio Mode, and Aux-in Mode. Bluetooth Mode is simple to pair, turn it on and press the Bluetooth button. Then connect your device to “SYLVANIA SP1043”. You do not need to enter a code, and if set up properly it will pair with your device every time you turn on the Bluetooth. FM Radio Mode just takes a few steps to get it set up. Once it is on a short press of the ON/OFF will turn on the FM Radio. To set up the available stations you will press the Play/Pause for a few seconds (long press). It will store a maximum of 30 stations. The bad part is that for me it saved static stations in addition to actual tuned in stations. I was only able to get about 10 stations. I ran the set up inside and outside with about the same results. Aux-mode will require a 3.5 mm cable. The instructions say “supplied”, but my speaker did not come with one. It is very easy to connect to devices that have the 3.5 mm port. The speaker comes with a 90 day warranty.

Overall, I am pretty happy with the Sylvania 8 premium rugged 360 sound water resistant bluetooth speaker. The black color is really nice. I love the cylinder shape and how lightweight it is. It's easy to take anywhere because of how lightweight it is and because of how small it is. The large control button makes it easy to operate. I love that it's bluetooth because it makes it easy to use with my bluetooth-enabled devices. I love that it has a rubberized design because it not only looks great, but it seems to really help protect it. The carrying hook is really convenient and easy to use. It has a rugged design and I love that it is water resistant to withstand rain, splashes and grime. It's the perfect size to take to the pool, beach, travel, etc. I like that it has a built in rechargeable lithium polymer battery and it doesn't take too long to fully charge. I think the sound quality is really nice and it has a pretty good volume range. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality, portable, water resistant speaker that will work with your bluetooth devices!

The Sylvania 8 Premium Rugged 360 Sound Water Resistant Bluetooth Speaker, SP1043, Black is a great blue tooth speaker. It is definitely a rugged speaker and is perfect while working and spending time outdoors. It has a loop to be able to hang the speaker while you work. The sound volume and quality are very good. While working in the yard I was able to hear the music from any spot. The only downside is the battery life. The battery only lasts a couple of hours and doesn't seem to warn you that it's going to die (or if it does it's hard to hear). More than once while using it the music just died while I was listening to music. Overall it's a great little speaker for short time periods.

This speaker is great. I'm amazed how easily got connected and the sound is excellent. My husband knows the brand (I didn't) and he said he wasn't surprised how great it was because the brand makes excellent things. I love it and use it for music and enhance the sound when I watch videos on my phone. Compact size beautiful minimalistic design.

I am still currently looking for the best portable (7.5" x 3" x3") speaker out there. However, I don't believe the perfect speaker to exists. This one comes very close, though. The sound from this speaker is really good, especially at higher volumes. It's not HiFi, but it's up there. It could definitely hold its own against a Soundlink mini 2 in sound quality. I put it up against the Soundcore boost, and it has less bass, but it's clearer. My ears sometimes would hurt if I had the boost near me. I also put it against the Tribit Max Sound plus, and the Miatone definitely sounds better. This is at full volume on both speakers and 70% volume on the phone for both. Now, to the drawbacks. For me, though, they don't bother me as much, seeing as the price is kind of low. The battery doesn't last long. On 50% volume, I get around 5 hours which is not much. Maybe I got a defective one. On the bright side, it does charge very quickly. The other thing is that the Bluetooth doesn't go through the walls very well. Again, these don't bother me as much because I've been looking for quality-sounding music from a speaker this size for a long time. The only good quality music I usually find is from something the size of a charge four or a sony srs-xb31. It's definitely better than a flip four, which is basically the same size in sound quality. Sylvania, if you read this, please, please keep making speakers this well and improve on battery life. I don't mind paying 100 bucks if you can make the battery last longer and improve the Bluetooth. The sound is just so good.
