If I had the opportunity to make this decision again to either purchase this item or not ....... I would not purchase after using it the first time. A wasted $13 to me. Makes my teeth feel rough and somewhat dries out my mouth.
I purchased Crest Pro-Health three times. For months now, I've had swollen lips and numbness in my mouth. At first I thought I had a sunburn on my lips. I used everything from Cocoa Butter to Vaseline, but it continued. By coincidence, I used a different toothpaste because the Crest 2 step was missing from my drawer. (My oldest son took it.) After a few days, the numbness and swollen lips started to go away. (I was also losing taste in my mouth.) I've discontinued using the product, and my mouth has gotten better. I've never had this experience with a toothpaste before, but this product should be taken off the market!
I can not start my day without a cup of caffeine. Coffee or tea, it doesn't matter, as long as I have that daily morning kickstart. Unfortunately, my teeth have paid the price for my caffeine addiction - yellowing and dullness being the biggest concerns. I've tried several other toothpastes that promised to whiten my teeth, I've even tried my regular toothpaste with a little baking soda mixed in, but nothing has really worked...until now! Crest Pro-Health HD Daily Two-Step Toothpaste System may be a little intimidating at first glance because of the two-step process, but it works! Step #1 strips away plaque while Step #2 polishes and whitens. The result is indeed a whiter, brighter smile. I started seeing results in only three days and have been very pleased. My teeth look so much healthier and smooth! Step #1 is a lot like regular brushing. The paste suds up in your mouth and has a wonderful cool mint taste. The difference between brushing with a regular toothpaste and this one is that you don't rinse this one with water after you spit it out. Instead, you move straight into Step #2 for polishing and whitening. Make sure not to use too much toothpaste during Step #1 as it can cause a slight numbing sensation. At least, that's what I noticed when I went a little overboard on the paste during my first application, but I'm not sure if was because of the paste itself or because I've had dental surgery in the past, which makes my teeth extra sensitive at times. Not that I'm complaining at all. The results are more than worth it. I also have noticed a significant improvement in my gums, specifically one in the very front that has been receding since I turned 30. I'm not sure if it's from gingivitis or not, but the stannous fluoride in Step #1 of this amazing system is definitely working its magic. PROS: * Whiten and brightens in a little as three applications. * Removes stains and improves gum health. * Step #2 polishes and leaves teeth feeling smooth. * Yummy cool mint taste. * Two step system is very easy to do; doesn't require additional equipment. CONS: * Too much toothpaste during Step #1 can cause a slight numbing effect. * Requires two steps, which some people may not like. All in all, I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to improve their smile. Note: I received this product complimentary from Walmart.com for testing purposes in exchange for an honest review.
The Crest Pro-Health HD Daily Two-step System worked well on my teeth. My teeth are naturally not white, meaning they are normally a yellowish color. Coffee, tea, chocolate and other foods that stain teeth just make it worse. So what I was really looking for was not sparkling white cartoon teeth, but just natural clean looking teeth. Each step is supposed to last one minute. The first step is the cleaning paste. It has a slight grit to it like the kind the dentist uses. I use an electric toothbrush, too. I liked the clean feeling it gave my teeth, but the directions say to not rinse between steps, which was really difficult since it's a habit to rinse. The whitener step was what I expected, a clear gel. It did make those white spots on my gums once, but they went away after a few minutes. Overall, I think my teeth felt cleaner and seemed less stained. It's easy, not messy, and the taste is like normal paste, not medical tasting at all. There's also quite a lot in each tube, enough to last one person at least two weeks, depending how heavy you apply your paste. My photo isn't perfect, as the lighting was slightly different in each, but you can get the general idea.
This two-step system seems to be doing a decent job. I have been using this system for almost 2 weeks now and have noticed a slight difference. My teeth definitely feel cleaner and smoother after using step 1 (removes plaque). Step 2 is the whitening gel and it is quite gooey. I don't see much of a difference in the whitening of teeth in pictures but I could tell when I was FaceTiming a family member. Pros: Leaves your mouth feeling fresh and clean. I can tell that my teeth are a little more whiter. Since you have to time how long you brush for the two steps, I have been brushing for the full 2 minutes that is recommended by dentists. I don't think I was brushing as long before. Cons: Toothpaste did leave a few white marks on my upper gum but these did disappear by the next brushing. I do have a few sensitive teeth and the toothpaste did on some occasions bother them. I am going to finish out the tubes and will see how it goes!
