Maytag Maxima MGD5100DC - Dryer - width: 27 in - depth: 31 in - height: 38.7 in - front loading - metallic slate

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this over 6 years ago and have been very pleased with it. I have had no mechanical issues with it. The only problem I do have is the dryer vent - you can pull it out and take the lint off but a lot of it falls into the bottom of the lint area and it's VERY hard to clean out. I use my refrigerator wire brush coil cleaner to try to get out some of the lint but it won't get it all. I have also used my vacume to clean some out but the attachment isn't small or thin enough to get it all. It would be great if it was easier to clean. I worry that this might be a fire hazard.

I purchased this washer and the matching gas dryer (MGD5100DW) approximately one month ago after reading the Consumer Reports guide on washers and dryers. For our space (a small closet in an apartment bathroom with a max width of just over 27") this set was the most highly rated unit on the market.I consider myself to be a bit of a research fiend, and was quite pleased to come across this model.After a few weeks of use, I'm thoroughly satisfied. The interior is cavernous, it gets our clothes clean while still being incredibly gentle on the fabrics, and the noise level is impressive. Even though the peak of the spin cycle isn't whisper quiet, it's still worlds better than the traditional unit I remember my parents having when I grew up.Design wise, it's not much to look upon, but honesty, it's a washer in a closet. I want it to clean my clothes, not look stunning. The controls are basic but functional.All in all, if you are looking for a practical, affordable, high efficiency front-loading washer in the 27" size range, look no further.

We've had the dryer for a few weeks now. Love it!Have used almost all the features and am super happy with the sanitize mode for pillows and dog bedding.Only complaint it that the "good airflow" doesn't always stay lit. We had technicians come check it out and it baffled them and the Maytag engineers they spoke to over the phone.

I bought this dryer to replace the old Maytag I had for 10 years. It is the closest one in comparison. The only downside to it is that the old pedestal does not fit the new dyer, which is a bummer! Otherwise it is a great dryer, with great features. Worth every penny!

I have had my new Dryer since June and I cannot say enough about it. I love it. I haven't noticed changes in my electric/gas charges and my clothes dry in better time. Nice and quite as well compared to my old dryer that was less than 10 years old.
