Looks good in my living

Love these tiles. They are exactly what I was looking for to protect an 8 cubby hole storage unit I use as a table next to my chair in the living room. My cats love sitting next to me and sometimes they get energetic and decide to take off running at a spur of the moment to chase someone else. These tiles help protect the top of that unit from their little nails but not only that I can set a cold or hot drink on these tiles and they act like a Hugh coaster. They are nice and thick and yes, they can crumble if not handled properly. I used an Exacto knife to cut one down to finish off an edge. Just take your time and it will cut nicely and evenly. I used the enclosed sticky tabs and they have not marred my storage unit top. Come off easily as I needed to reset the tiles so they snugged up to each other without a gap in the seams. I noticed these 12x12 inch tiles come in 2 colours. I prefer the dark brown because it fits in with my decor better. One cat did try to use these as a scratching post but with some training and patience he learned not to. The tiles I purchased were about 1cm/10mm thick, so a nice thickness, imo. Strong Smokey odor. I laid out 20 of these to air out in my hallway. Smokey odor gave me a headache. So I had to put cor outside and open windows to air out the house. They entire living room reeked of smoke. Am waiting to see if odor will go away. But I then found another person's comment at amazon for this same product, that said odor remained after 30 days. I am very sensitve to odors. I may have to throw these out as unuseable. Nothing in product information says anything odor. Apparently created by charring the cork with flame to create the color. Also is very fragile and falls apart easily.

I used it as a head board. Looks great but Can't touch it. Very messy.
