Very good canned meal. You're not supposed to add water, but adding water makes it soup-like. Otherwise, it's a very thick stew, almost like a chunky meat gravy. I make cheddar biscuits to go along with it, and it makes quite a delicious meal.We added it to our emergency stock.

My childhood supper highlight and favorite food, no longer. My father trusted this product as a go-to for an otherwise picky son. It was always a hit, until now. As a man and a father I will not be sharing this tradition with my children or buying the stew as the quality has significantly declined. The delicious cubes of hearty beef have been replaced by crumbly ground up clumps of unappealing and unappetizing "meat"? Soy based product?. Mushroom powder has been added and why? It is very disappointing and generally sad, because this stew always provided a strong sense of nostalgia and comforts of home. I have found recently that the microwavable meal trays are still close if not the same as the original recipe?? Why this inconsistency? Why this change? I have lost trust in this product not knowing when it will be good but knowing I generally will be let down. Please return to the original other wise my money will go to competitive options.

I've been eating this product off and on for more than 40 years and it used to be a favorite comfort food, especially for camping. I've bought my last can. The flavor has changed significantly but even worse it no longer has stew meat in it, which changes the texture completely. It went from "yum" to "ick!".

I know you all made the change awhile ago, but I'm still disgusted by the newer recipe. I've been buying the plastic trays (please don't change this recipe), because they taste like the old familiar Dinty Moore I know and love. The ingredients are different - no mushroom powder. Please re-evaluate your decision to change the recipe, listen to your customers (many of whom have been eating this since childhood!) and bring back the old classic!

I recall they changed the recipe a few years ago. I keep trying it and hoping I can get a can where they go back to their original recipe. But, it just doesn't happen. They used to have the meatball stew which was similar to the old recipe. But they now seem to have discontinued that as well. Really miss the old recipe with the thicker gravy and pieces of stew meat. Hope they bring it back someday.
