Medela PersonalFit Breast Shields, 27mm, Clear, 87274, Set of 2

After several months of pumping with the standard 24 mm size shields, I realized they might be too big. The 21 mm ones actually fit and it is so much better - more comfortable as well as more efficient pumping. Wish I had gotten these months ago. The only issue is that the 21 mm shields aren't quite as easy to fit into the other parts of the pump - it's a tight fit. But still works fine.

I used the 21mm breastshield for the first time today. I was using the 24 but it was a little too big. The 21 was a lot shorter than the 24 and did not fit into the connector verry well. I pumped then it popped off and spilled all my milk. I was a work and nedless to say I did cry over spilled milk. I have had a difficult time with milk production so this was pretty devistating. I think it should fit into the conector better than that.

This is the second child I've breastfed and I used all my supplies from the previous child. I have a 20 month old and a 6 month old. I've always known that the 24mm (standard) size was slightly too big. So I decided it was time to get the 21mm shield instead. I have 2 medela pumps and one freemie pump. I love my medela over anything. Unfortunately, i was a little disappointed in the 21mm shield I have just purchased. It is nothing like the standard size. It is shorter in length, a lot shorter, which causes my nipple to almost touch the end during pumping. It also much thicker, making it harder to use and clean. I'm not sure if all the shields have changed but I definitely do not recommend the continuance of this change. It was great before, it wasn't too think or extremely thick. The length was perfect, allowing the nipples to extend freely.

Came home with the standard 24mm and larger breast shields from the hospital and soon discovered that I'm way more petite than the average new momma. I needed smaller shields for proper, painless pumping. Thank goodness the website is easy to navigate and that I was able to order the smaller shields. I still think a smaller size is needed, but this the smallest available. Why not offer all three sizes with the hospital issued medela packs though?

I bought this because I noticed the breast shields that come standard with all Medela pumps was a little too big. This size is a lot better but I kind of wish there was a size smaller. So far this size has worked better for me. A smaller size than 21mm will be better but for now it works.
