[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did not want my son to have plastic bottles due to concern for chemicals so I sought out glasses bottles. The Avent bottles are the absolute best (and I tried several)! They warm evenly, are high quality glass, and my son takes them without a problem. It should be noted that you need a sleeve if you're serving it warm but that wasn't an issue for me.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am going back to working and was concern about baby refusing the bottle or my breast. I guess the bottle nipple really helped with this transitioning and my LO having not problem using bottles. I am so happy with them! Glass bottle are easy to clean and I feel like the last longer than the plastic ones
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received these bottles from the weeSpring Parent Panel and I was thrilled because I wanted to use only glass when my son was born. It's super important in my house to use safer and eco-friendly products . My husband wasn't too excited about the idea of glass due to weight and possibility of breaking but I found these okay to handle. They weren't too heavy but definitely were heavier than what we were using before. They were easy to clean and I liked that when I sanitized them they didn't get a strange film on them that I usually have to wash off regular plastic bottles. Unfortunately, my son didn't really care for the nipple as we have been using a wider and shorter nipple. While this nipple was short, it wasn't wide. We were unable to access whether the anti-colic vent worked because he didn't take to the bottle. I would suggest these bottles but it could be a hard transition if you're using an entirely different nipple.
These might be the answer to making things work with a 3rd child on the way! Over the last 3 years, I have tried to only use glass or stainless bottles with both of my children since birth. It's very important to me that anything they use is eco-friendly, non-toxic, and BPA free. Since it is glass (the glass is made in the USA!), you don't have to worry about anything leaching when you warm them up. Having products that I can use through multiple children and then pass on when done is a big deal to me, i.e. a money saver, time saver, and landfill saver. It's also important that bottles are easy to clean and sterilize and I feel that you can really get these bottles clean. There are just 4 parts (if you use the cap) with no major nooks and crannies for milk/liquid to get stuck in and turn into mold. It's a relief to have a time saver such as an easy to clean and assemble bottle. Assembly is quick, but one must make sure to pull the nipple all the way through the collar. The wide mouth makes pouring breastmilk from bags into the bottle easy. Unfortunately my now 15 month old has been refusing all bottles and only wants to breastfeed. I tried the bottle myself and was surprised at how soft and pliable the silicone nipple is. Since I EBF both my children and plan to with my 3rd, it is important to have a bottle with a nipple that closely resembles the breast like these. We always use anti-colic bottles, so having this type of nipple (without the extra parts like on other bottles!) is going to be great when our next child is born. My son seemed to hold the bottle easily with it's contoured shape and it fits easily in my hand as well. Of course glass certainly doesn't bounce which is a drawback to all glass bottles, but it appears to be a quality made, durable product. If using with an older child, or an accident prone adult, I would look into getting covers for them. It would be even nicer if covers were included with the bottles at purchase. Also seeing that these bottles are compatible with the Philips Avent Natural range of breast pump, bottle and cup parts is exciting. I am planning to go get the cup parts to use with both my 15 month old and 3 year old. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing us with both the 4 and 8 ounce versions of these bottles.
As a mom, and one that breastfeeds, I of course want the best for my baby boy. In my mind this means not only providing the best for him now as an infant, but also for years to come. I love that this bottle is eco-friendly because it is sustainable and somewhere down the road it will be fully recyclable. On our search for a perfect bottle for him, we found that he isn't fussy when it comes to any bottle, but prefers bottles that have a wide base at the nipple and nipples that flex just like mom's does while breastfeeding. The Philips Natural Avent Glass Baby Bottle met all of our baby's preferences (and our preferences as parents!) perfectly. I wasn't quite sure how the anti-colic vent would work, but it turned out to work perfectly because our baby boy never had any excessive burping, gas, or spit-up after drinking from this wonderful bottle. While I'm in charge of cleaning breast pump accessories, my husband is in charge of cleaning bottles and nipples. He mentioned that he really liked the fact that it was very easy to clean with any of our bottle brushes because the nipple and bottle on the Avent Glass bottle was much wider than other bottles we have used. He also mentioned he never had a hard time assembling or dis-assembling the bottle and nipple. While the glass is a little thicker than other plastic bottles of comparable size, it really doesn't take longer to heat up in a bottle warmer. That is so important when you have a baby that is hungry right this second, and doesn't want to wait! I am so grateful that weeSpring Parent Panel sent us these bottles to try out, we love them. However, because our baby doesn't drink more than 3-4 oz in one sitting, we will most likely not use these 8 oz bottles and continue using the smaller 5 oz bottles.
