It used to be the only formula that would not upset my sons stomach and it still doesn't except for that lately it feels like I'm feeding him powdered fish food. It smells awful, is super thin, and the scoop couldn't even be broken off the dispenser plastic before being packaged. The Gentle one seems to be the same so hopefully that doesn't change too
We use to LOVE this formula! My baby tolerated it well and never had any issues. We recently bought some and when I opened it, it smelled like fish food! I haven't purchased another can and I am afraid to purchase another because of this reason. I am now purchasing Similac and it smells completely normal. I hope they fix this or we are done with Parent's choice formula.
As another reviewer mentioned, the last 2 canisters I've purchased have had an extremely strong fishy smell as soon as they were opened. The cans were purchased weeks apart, after I decided to try again in case the first was just bad luck. We've used this formula for months with no problems, but I'm done. I'm not going to risk getting another fishy can to return. It's disappointing that we can't use it anymore.
after 8 months of EBF I needed to supplement with formula, I tried the name brand but baby hated it and after I tasted it so did I. I did a ton of research and turns out that there isn't a significant difference between the ingredients of the name brand and generic formula because after all it is a formula, so decided to give this one a try. if you have breastmilk one trick is to mix a little so baby can transition better, I did this 2 times and by the third bottle, baby was drinking this with no problem and now goes back and forth with breast milk and this formula with 0 problem. I haven't had any issues of reflux , spit ups, constipation, anything. one thing though is that baby only drinks around 7oz before bed. I hope this helps you.
This formula is honestly the best. My baby thrives on it. He has been on it since his first week of life, has hardly ever gone a day without a bowl movement, and rarely spit ups. Would recommend it any day. Sidenote: I later tried the name-brand one, and he hated it.
