Lenovo - 14" ThinkPad X1 Gen 8 Laptop - 8GB Memory - Intel Core i5 - 256GB Hard Drive

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Happy with the build of the computer, but disappointed in the fact that fn/ctrl are swapped from their normal positions. Moreover, I like using my function keys to control media (play/pause/skip) but the Lenovo keyboard does not have these functions built in. Other than that, it's a fantastic machine - very light and a pleasure to use. It does get hot at times, though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Incredibly light and durable laptop. I travel a lot for work and it is a pleasure to carry it around as it is not too heavy. They keyboard is also nice to type on. I have 4 of these Laptops for work and I would highly recommend to anyone!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a workhorse laptop and chose the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 with Fedora. This is very fast, lightweight, sturdy, and reliable with long battery life. I love the keyboard feel and I am a long time fan of trackpoint mouse movement. Fedora 32 doesn't use the fingerprint reader (not important to me). It's too bad that the unit requires a separate RJ45 extension connector but that's fairly cheap. The case has a nice non-slippery feel and is standing up to travel better than some aluminum case laptops I've used. Fedora works quite nicely on this unit and I've modified the BIOS for virtualization and am happily running several other operating system environments.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only had it around a month, but so far it's exactly what i hoped for. I wanted a durable, quiet laptop with a great keyboard and it fits the bill. The finger print scanner is a nice, cool tough and makes me feel more secure about sensitive info. So far the battery life has been killer, especially compared to me last laptop, and it's the lightest laptop I've ever owned (and I've had like 6).
