This stuff really works; and fast! After owning my puppy for 2yrs he for the 1st time picked up a lot of fleas after I took him to be groomed at a different grooming store. When I noticed it was a large infection. I checked with several sources %26 this product was recommended and I can see why! It's costly but it works!
After treating my dogs, they began to itch like crazy. I realize the flea meds take time to work, so I bought capstar to kill the live fleas and give the frontline time to work. A week later, they are still itching, and I found live fleas. I read the directions, and it states that frontline causes the fleas to become hyperactive, which explains why my dogs started itching more and caused them more discomfort. It's been a couple of weeks now, and I did find a couple of dead fleas, but I am also still finding live fleas too. This is after 3 consecutive months of treatments. The issue with the flea meds is that it causes the fleas to go into hyper activity, which means biting more. The fleas dont die until they bite the dog, and it takes several months to clear even a mild case of fleas. I do not recommend it for anyone that does not want to keep their pet on flea meds 12 months a year or anyone with a mid range flea infestation, and absolutely not for a big infestation. There are other products on the market that will kill fleas on contact and not just when they bite. Frontline makes Shield, and I'm going to try it instead
I use to buy the flea and tick pills and liquid from the Vets office. it was more expensive than this item but it seems to have the same coverage. My dog is 94 pounds and very active, loves the outdoors and is out there a lot. We live in the south and it gets hot and humid here with lots of bugs. Since I have used this product the last 4 years I have never had an issue with it. I reapply every 30 days. my sister has a small dog and she pays almost the same price for one pill each month at the vet where I get 3 months instead of 1 month. I definitely recommend this product. No need to pay more for the same end results. I am going to say I can't guarantee that your dog will never get fleas or ticks because no product is 100% guaranteed to never have one flea or tick but I can say it's number one in my books.
I have two dogs that have a couple fleas on them, like you really have to search to find one. They've been to the vet numerous times who said they don't have any because they never see them since there are so few. I treated both of my dogs with this and they both still have fleas. This is awfully expensive for something that didn't work!
all I know is this stuff used to work great, but now... not so much ! i have treated my house so thats not the problem.. i applied this correctly and it isnt touching the fleas. i gave her a bath and waited 3 days to apply. the fleas arent just getting on, biting and dying. They are creating flea dirt and sores. they just wont die!! waste of money
