I received Freshware reusable meal prep containers from the Walmart Spark Reviewer free in exchange for a review. These containers came in handy. I have started meal prepping and these containers are the right size for lunch. I actually would have preferred the containers with the compartments; however, these work just as well. 15 containers were packaged together. This is enough containers for 3 weeks or 3 meals per day for 5 days. It's your decision on how you want to divide them up. The containers are very sturdy. The lids seal on them really well. You do not have to worry about the lids coming off and your food spilling. They are microwave, dishwasher, and freezer safe. As you long as your care for them properly, you will have the containers for a while. If you are looking for containers that will assist in portion control and meal, this is a great container to assist with both.

I have had and used several different types of similarly sized portion control meal prep containers like this in the past. Different sizes and function. Some too small or too big, but I've found this one to be a very convenient size for my personal preferences. They fit my fridge well and stack neatly. The dish trays have some depth to them, but the lids also do. So the food does not have to be the exact depth of the main dish as some other boxes do. So if your food stacks a bit high or you need to throw some cutlery on top you're good to go.

I was given the free product to try, and give my honest review. I received the containers shrink wrapped. I immediately noticed they look like cheap fast food containers. They're thin plastic. The lids are made of the same thin plastic, only clear. These were okay for storing leftovers in the fridge, but not for lunch. If not laid flat, they leak. The lids don't close tightly. There's no seal around the edges. I tried to use these in a couple ways of which they are advertised to be made for. I froze leftovers in these, within a few days the leftovers were freezer burnt. I also tried to store fresh green salad in one, in the refrigerator, and within two days the salad was turning, and was no longer fresh or edible. They get a fair rating from me, because you can take your lunch in these and as long as it's stored flat, it won't leak, and these are microwaveable as they say. The plastic becomes very pliable and the structure is lost once these are heated. They also get very hot. You can microwave them as they claim.

These Freshware meal prep containers are pretty great! We received the 15 pack and I'm thrilled as we had just ran out of plastic Tupperware containers. These are listed as meal prep containers, but we don't meal prep so I just use them as food storage containers for leftovers or lunches. They have a nice tight seal with the lid, as long as you push down along all the edges. Getting the lid off can be a tad difficult because the seal is tight and the edges are a little sharp. I haven't been cut, but I try to be careful because they do feel sharp. Proceed with a little caution when opening the lid. These containers stack so nicely when stored, makes my cabinet look much nicer and organized. They hold a good amount of food, especially with the popped up lid (as shown in my picture.). They seem durable as well. They are a great size for a lunch, no compartments which is fine with me. They are made exclusively of 100% food-safe, BPA, PVC and Phthalate free, FDA Approved polypropylene, which makes this dad very happy. We try to steer clear of chemicals, etc, but that can be hard and expensive so these containers make it easy. Also, one of the best parts about them is they are dishwasher and microwave safe!! I've hand-washed them, microwaved them, and put them in the dishwasher. All work well. They are very easy to hand wash because food doesn't seem to stick too harshly to them. I've been so happy with these and I plan to buy Freshware containers in the future.

I really like these containers for all the reasons listed as far as the type of safe BPA plastic, dishwasher safe, freezer safe, microwave safe, and it even has the temperature at which it's safe to add hot food right into the container. I also like that it comes in a large pack and they are all the same size to make cabinet storage as easy as portion control, as well as stacking uniformity in the fridge or freezer. I like that the lids snap on and stay on without a problem. The containers are a little chinsy looking in person I will admit. They kind of remind me of take out containers from restaurants but they do work really, really well. One down side is you have to basically go all the way around with your hands and snap it like 8 times to make sure it's leak proof and everything is closed completely but it will stay closed and not pop up. It has a click to let you know it's closed. Now with that said I filled 1 with water and made sure it was closed but purposely shook it on all sides to see if anything escaped. I had a minor drip at 1 corner but this was a forced test with water. For food with any sauces I would think this would be ok as it would not be tipped on it's side and shook a bunch of times on purpose to see if it would drip. So in my opinion they do their job quite well and I would buy them for my families needs. Right now I have 4 in use and saving the others. I plan to rotate them out as they begin to get older and stained or lose the ability to stay closed.
