I have AAA batteries for my insulin pump. At first they worked great and would last about 3-5 days. As I used and recharged them, they started lasting only 1-2 days, then less than a day. Now none of them will charge. I put them in the charger and it just blinks red. Not at all what was touted on the package when I bought them.
I purchased a set of four Duracell 2400 mAh rechargeable AA batteries and the charging unit that was packaged with them on October 27, 2014. I used them to power a camera flash unit, and rotated between charger and flash as needed. The batteries are guaranteed for 10 years or 400 charges, whichever comes first. After 3-1/2 years of use with an estimated 40-50 recharges, the batteries no longer will take a charge. The charging unit flashes the error code. The batteries have failed after a mere 10-15% of their advertised life span. The Duracell web site affirms the 400 recharges guarantee, but offers no remedy if the battery fails prematurely. Thus, the guarantee is an empty promise. The web site has no mechanism for leaving a detailed message to the company. This is a disappointment, particularly considering the substantial sums of money the company invests in advertising its brand name and reliability.
I bought these batteries for my cordless phone. At first, they were great, lasting for ages on calls and when the phone was not in use. However and despite the 3-year guarantee, after less than 12 months they stopped holding a charge and I am now cut off mid-call.
Great Batteries which I use in my running headlamp, my 10 fiber optic testers, fluke network testers etc. The major drawback is that you can't charge 8 or 16 at a time and because there are no Duracell 9 volt rechargeable batteries. I have to use endless 9 volt batteries while the AAAs and AAs keep on going which is a pain if one in the middle of work project. I am going to have to invest in the Jackery Pro to power a 110 volt power strip and multiple Duracell Chargers in a row. Converting to AC and back to DC wastes energy. Duracell should offer a DC higher voltage recharge option off of the Jackery Pro so I can charge large amounts of AA batteries at a time. I suggest a joint partnership to make this available to contractors.
