Thyme & Table Stainless Steel Vegetable Peeler, 2-Pack

Received the items in the mail with the gold scratched off of the handle on the vegetable peeler.

Because it matches the other thyme and table items I have and I've been looking for anything thyme and table that matches black and gold thus far I have not used my products but they arrived without damages.

Feels a bit cheaply made. VERY lightweight and somewhat flimsy. First, let's talk about the gold color. Just, no. It makes these peelers look like toys. The advertising on the package is over the top: “Easy, fast and efficient peeling or grating in any direction – up, down, back and forth.” I guess that's true as long as you hold the tool differently for each movement. “Excellent for making fine julienne strips of carrots, celery, radish, potatoes, or any other vegetables and fruits.” Any other vegetables or fruits? Let's see… Oranges? Tomatoes? Bell peppers? Nope. So, not true. “Peel, slice, grate, shave, shred and garnish.” That's a bit of a stretch, I think. The julienne tool did work well on a peeled potato. Probably would do very well on a carrot. You have to pull it toward you to julienne. I don't think “up, down, back and forth” would describe it. The peeler does have a nice feature. You can remove the blade and reverse it so if you prefer to hold a potato in your left hand and push the tool away from you with your right hand, it will work. The little guide by the blade came bent (see pic) so it seems to peel a thicker slice than I'd prefer. They both survived a trip through the dishwasher (top rack) without any problem. Overall, I'm not impressed with this 2-pack. They work, but they don't have a good feel to them. And they're gold colored… so, nope.

I got this peeler set because I had an old useless peeler I needed to replace. My new Thyme & Table Vegetable Peeler is great. I peel vegetables quickly and with less effort. I did not know how bad my old peeler was until I replaced it with this new one. It came in a two pack which included a shredder which I used to shred carrots in my green salad for color and taste. It worked really well and is easy to clean both the peeler and shredder after use. I've had them for a few months now and they still work like when first used. I'm sure I will have and use them for many years to come.

Cudoos to manufacturer of the Thyme and Table Stainless Steel Vegetable Peelers. I'm left handed and have never been able to use regular vegetable peelers. For some reason, they work fine for right handed people. After giving up on trying find one to use, I thought well I might as well try this one from Thyme and Table. Omg I have added “shavings” to everything. Washes up like a dream. Since it's stainless steel, I know it's going to last a very long time. With the great design I have not cut myself even once even though the blames glides right thru vegetables. The tip of the smaller one is perfect for removing strawberry tops. Anything that cuts prep time is a valuable asset in anyones kitchen. Would give it 10 stars if I could.
